I probably would\u2019ve ran my career into the ground\u200c and B. I would\u2019ve died already with my\u2064 career into the ground \u2014 one or the other, and \u2062it wouldn\u2019t have ever\u2064 been where it\u2019s at now,\u201d McGraw said on the podcast The Zane Lowe Interviews.<\/p>\n<p>He said Hill was a big inspiration for him getting sober in 2008.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWell, I don\u2019t know if the maturity\u2019s occurred yet, but she put up with it for a\u200c while because I was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/im-glad-my-parents-lied-to-me-about-santa-claus\/\" title=\"I\u2019m Glad My Parents Lied To Me About Santa Claus\">pretty sneaky<\/a> about it for a while,\u201d he said of battling an addiction to alcohol. \u201cBut it was\u200c just overdoing stuff, and then I think when the kids got old enough\u200b that they could notice \u200bthings is when she finally said, \u2018You\u2019ve got to figure this out.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Beyond just helping him thrive personally, McGraw said he consults \u200dHill about\u2063 his music, too. He said their process is collaborative. \u201cI\u2019m always playing her the songs that I want to record and playing the mixes as I\u2019ll go along, and\u200d there\u2019s\u2063 times we don\u2019t agree,\u201d the 56-year-old father \u200dof three said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s times where she goes, \u2018I don\u2019t like the way that sounds.\u2019\u2064 \u2018Well, I do, and that\u2019s the way it\u2019s going to stay.\u2019 And the same thing when\u2064 she\u2019s \u200cmaking \u2064a\u2062 record. It\u2019s like, \u2018I\u2064 think this should \u200cbe your single.\u2019 She goes, \u2018No, I don\u2019t like that song.
