Many of the \u200bnumbers being gamed out by\u200c politicians and the media are generated from polling.<\/p>\n<p>Data collected from a range of individual opinions gets codified into\u2063 figures that can be \u2062compared and analyzed. Ron DeSantis \u2014\u200b who is second to former\u200d President Donald Trump\u2062 in most GOP surveys \u2014 had a\u200c good night.<\/p>\n<p>On Thursday, polling site <a href=\"https:\/\/projects.fivethirtyeight.com\/republican-debate-august-poll\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">FiveThirtyEight<\/a> reported on \u201cWho Won the First Republican Debate,\u201d sharing the results of surveys it conducted jointly with the Washington Post and Ipsos.<\/p>\n<p>The results came from 775 likely Republican primary voters who watched at least some of the \u2064debate. Her net\u2062 favorability increased \u2064by 13 percent.<\/p>\n<p>Former New Jersey Gov. <strong>Chris Christie<\/strong> also made some gains Wednesday night, despite being loudly <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/christie-forced-stop-speaking-drowned-boos-moderator-needs-police-crowd\/\">booed<\/a> during the debate when he talked about Trump. His sky-high disapproval rating of 61.3 percent dropped slightly to 59.9 percent, but his favorable rating rose from\u2063 23.4 to 35.2 percent \u2014 a \u200bnet gain of 13 points.<\/p>\n<p>Still, Christie was rated as having the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/on-the-8th-day-of-bidens-coming-to-power-the-united-states-officially-announced-a-recession-chinas-yangtze-river-news\/\" title=\"\u201cOn the 8th Day of Biden\u2019s Coming to Power, the United States Officially Announced a Recession!\u201d \u2013 China\u2019s Yangtze River News\">worst performance<\/a> by 22 percent of the respondents, and only 4 percent of those polled thought the former governor won the debate. Only 7 percent thought he won the debate. Even though\u200d he posted a net favorability gain of 7 points after \u200cthe event, Pence remained underwater with\u200b primary voters, with 42.6 favorable to 53.9 \u2062unfavorable ratings.<\/p>\n<p>Perhaps the biggest loser was former Arkansas Gov. <strong>Asa Hutchinson<\/strong>.
