She emphasized\u200c that the orderly administration\u200b of justice takes\u200d precedence over\u200c political campaigns.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cThe fact that [Trump is] running a political campaign has to yield\u200b to the orderly administration of justice,\u201d \u2064Chutkan said during the Aug. 11 hearing. \u201cIf that means he \u2063can\u2019t say exactly what he wants to say about witnesses in this\u2062 case, that\u2019s how it has to be.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>However, despite \u200bher warnings\u2062 to Trump, Chutkan has\u200b been <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/judge-presiding-over-trumps-jan-6-trial-has-track-record-of-politically-charged-j6-rulings\/\" title=\"Judge overseeing Trump's Jan. 6 trial known for politically biased rulings on J6 cases.\">issuing\u200d politically charged\u2064 rulings<\/a> and making incendiary statements of\u200d her own while presiding over\u2062 cases involving Trump supporters charged in connection with the Jan. 6,\u200d 2021, \u200dCapitol\u200d melee.<\/p>\n<h3>Chutkan&#8217;s Strong Opinions<\/h3>\n<p>A review\u200d of hearing transcripts reveals that Chutkan has expressed strong \u200cand <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/knives-out-dems-increasingly-turn-on-biden-over-classified-docs-controversy\/\" title=\"Knives Out: Dems Increasingly Turn on Biden Over Classified Docs Controversy\">settled opinions<\/a> \u2064about the \u2063issues at the heart of\u200b United States\u200d v. Donald Trump. She has\u2062 publicly\u2064 asserted that\u2063 the 2020 election was beyond reproach, that the Jan. 6 protests\u200b were orchestrated by Trump, and\u200c that the former president is guilty of crimes. Chutkan has described Jan. 6 as a\u200c &#8220;mob attack&#8221; on &#8220;the very\u2064 foundation of our democracy&#8221; and labeled Trump&#8217;s\u2063 claim \u200dof \u200ca stolen\u2063 election \u2064as a conspiracy theory.<\/p>\n<p>While judges \u2064often make comments from the bench, Chutkan&#8217;s strident language raises questions\u200b about her impartiality in handling the case against the presumptive GOP nominee \u200bfor \u2064president in\u2063 2024.<\/p>\n<h3>Concerns of Bias<\/h3>\n<p>Some have raised concerns\u200b about Chutkan&#8217;s potential \u200dbias in the\u200d case. GOP Rep. Matthew Gaetz of Florida filed a resolution to condemn\u200d and censure Chutkan for \u2063exhibiting &#8220;open bias\u2063 and\u2062 partisanship in\u2064 the conduct of\u200b her official duties as a judge.&#8221; \u200dHowever, it is \u2064a steep legal hurdle to\u200b get a new <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/cruz-says-judge-in-jan-6-case-will-be-hostile-to-trump\/\" title=\"Cruz predicts unfriendly judge for Trump in Jan. 6 case.\">judge \u200bassigned<\/a> \u2062to the case based on bias. Judges are expected to\u2063 form opinions\u2064 based \u200don their work \u200cas judges.<\/p>\n<p>Chutkan, appointed by Barack Obama in\u2062 2013, has been one of the toughest judges on Jan. 6 defendants. She \u200dhas given defendants \u2064longer \u200bprison terms than recommended by prosecutors\u2064 and has expressed\u2064 her \u200down views\u2064 on Trump&#8217;s alleged role in the events of Jan. 6.<\/p>\n<p>Despite concerns about bias, Chutkan&#8217;s extensive record of comments suggests that Trump may\u2063 face challenges in receiving\u2063 a fair trial in the nation&#8217;s capital.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>the rules of this courtroom,&#8221; Judge Tanya S.
