The\u2063 murderer is a\u2062 racist who specifically targeted racial minorities. \u2064Everytown claims the attack \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2023\/08\/17\/us\/buffalo-shooting-family-survivors-lawsuits\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">could\u200d have been prevented<\/a>,\u201d but in fact, the \u200cgun seller performed all of \u2062the proper background checks. <\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2-long d-flex justify-content-center\" style=\"margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center; \" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-478141257\">\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1379703300879-0\" class=\"mb-30\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-1f646168c8254483acaaadbb7490a9a2 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-1f646168c8254483acaaadbb7490a9a2\"><\/div>\n<h3>Blaming Others<\/h3>\n<p>Others are \u2063also being \u2062sued, including the 18-year-old murderer\u2019s parents and social media companies that allegedly\u200c \u201ctransformed and addicted\u201d the murderer by \u2062allowing extremist content on their sites.<\/p>\n<h3>Unveiling the Shooter&#8217;s Motives<\/h3>\n<p>But\u2064 the lessons from this shooting,\u200c like <a href=\"https:\/\/crimeresearch.org\/2023\/03\/vince-vaughn-explains-the-obvious-how-mass-killers-pick-out-venues-where-their-victims-are-sitting-ducks\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">many other mass public shootings<\/a>, are hiding in plain sight. One needs\u200d only to read the killer\u2019s \u2063manifesto. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cAreas where CCW [carrying a concealed weapon] are \u2063outlawed or prohibited \u200bmay be good areas of \u2064attack,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/crimeresearch.org\/2022\/05\/new-york-mass-public-shooter-explicitly-targeted-areas-where-ccw-are-outlawed-or-prohibited-may-be-good-areas-of-attack-areas-with-strict-gun-laws-are-also-great-places-of-attack\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">wrote<\/a> the \u200cshooter. \u201cAreas with strict\u2063 gun laws are also great \u2062places \u2064of\u200d attack.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But \u2062Everytown \u2064ignores those quotes.\u200c Nor does the organization mention that the \u2063Buffalo\u200d mass \u2064murderer <a href=\"https:\/\/crimeresearch.org\/2022\/05\/new-york-mass-public-shooter-explicitly-targeted-areas-where-ccw-are-outlawed-or-prohibited-may-be-good-areas-of-attack-areas-with-strict-gun-laws-are-also-great-places-of-attack\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">self-identified<\/a> as an \u201ceco-fascist national socialist\u201d and a member of the \u201cmild-moderate authoritarian left.\u201d The shooter expressed concern \u2063that minority\u2062 immigrants \u2062have too many children\u2064 and\u200b will damage the environment. \u201cThe invaders are the ones overpopulating the world,\u201d he wrote. \u201cKill the invaders, kill the overpopulation and by doing so save \u200dthe environment.\u201d <\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-b5d568954935d9ea9ea60a977692eaf5 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-6\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-b5d568954935d9ea9ea60a977692eaf5\"><\/div>\n<p>The murderer argued that capitalists are destroying\u2064 the environment and are at the root \u200bof much of \u200cthe problem. \u201cThe \u200ctrade\u2062 of goods is to be discouraged at all costs,\u201d he \u2062insisted.<\/p>\n<p>Overpopulation, \u2062business-hating, and\u2062 the environment are hardly signature\u200c conservative issues. It\u2019s certainly\u2064 not something you\u2019ll hear from any of the \u200cRepublican presidential candidates. And while some Republicans believe in limiting international \u2062trade, it\u2019s not for environmental reasons.<\/p>\n<h3>The Role \u200cof\u200c Media and Politicians<\/h3>\n<p>So \u2063who\u2063 is to \u200dblame for radicalizing this murderer?\u2062 The media \u200band politicians warning of \u200ba climate crisis deserve some blame for the \u200dkiller\u2019s \u201ceco-fascism.\u201d Indeed, climate\u200b activists\u200b argue time and again\u200d that\u200b overpopulation is part of the problem. \u201cIt does lead, I think, young people to have a legitimate\u2063 question: Is it OK to\u200d still have children?\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.marketwatch.com\/story\/young-adults-worry-its-morally-wrong-to-have-children-earth-day-study-finds-11619110785\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">said<\/a> Rep.\u2064 Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., in 2019. That same\u200d year she also <a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/policy\/energy-environment\/426353-ocasio-cortez-the-world-will-end-in-12-years-if-we-dont-address\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">warned<\/a> that \u2062the \u201cworld will end \u200bin 12\u2062 years if we don\u2019t\u2062 address climate change.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Nor does President \u200bBiden help matters when he <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Bgil84mt8_I\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">tells \u2064the nation<\/a> that the environment \u2063\u201cposes an\u2064 existential threat to our lives. \u2026 This is code red.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-edaf2e1faea4d2f970b5cdab55878c6a fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-10\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-edaf2e1faea4d2f970b5cdab55878c6a\"><\/div>\n<h3>Seeking \u200dthe Truth<\/h3>\n<p>If\u2064 Everytown wants to sue Big\u2063 Tech outlets for radicalizing \u200bthis mass murderer, maybe it should sue them for running \u201cextremist\u200d content\u201d from AOC, Biden, and various environmentalists.<\/p>\n<p>Psychiatrists \u2062had previously\u2063 evaluated the shooter without \u200bfinding\u2064 him to be a danger to himself or others \u2014 which\u2062 is nothing unusual. \u2063 <a href=\"https:\/\/crimeresearch.org\/2023\/03\/updated-information-on-mass-public-shootings\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Half of the mass public shooters<\/a> since\u200b 1998\u200d had \u2062seen <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/graphic-sexual-content-assigned-to-texas-students-dissenting-parents-harassed-with-anti-christiandks\/\" title=\"Graphic Sexual Content Assigned To Texas Students; Dissenting Parents Harassed With Anti-Christian\u2026\u2018D**ks\u2019\u00a0\">mental health professionals<\/a>. But\u2064 if <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/do-gun-control-groups-care-what-really-causes-mass-shootings-everytown-lawsuit-says-no\/\" title=\"Gun-control groups ignore the true causes of mass shootings, as evidenced by the Everytown lawsuit.\">trained mental health professionals couldn\u2019<\/a>t\u200c realize this man was \u2063so dangerous, it\u2019s hard to blame the\u200d parents. It certainly doesn\u2019t \u200bmake sense to sue them.<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately, lawsuits, \u2063such as this one\u200c by\u2064 interest groups like Everytown, are more interested in punishing people they oppose or causing others to change their \u2064behavior in desired \u2062ways\u2064 than\u2063 seeking\u200b the truth. With billionaire\u200d Michael Bloomberg\u2019s \u2062deep pockets, \u2063Everytown does not worry about funding its\u200b lawsuits. The same can\u2019t be\u2064 said\u2064 for\u2064 their targets, such as a \u200dsmall gun\u2063 store. Social media companies aren\u2019t going to be bankrupted by the lawsuits, but\u2062 they may be\u2064 even more \u200blikely to \u200bcensor material that gun-control groups such as Everytown\u200b dislike.<\/p>\n<p>The killer wasn\u2019t \u200dborn an \u200deco-fascist. For the sake of our society\u2019s health and safety, \u200bwe should be thinking\u200d twice \u200dbefore engaging\u2064 in\u200d hyperbolic alarmism that can work impressionable young\u200d people into a frenzy, though\u2064 lawsuits when we \u2062disagree with people isn\u2019t the obvious\u200b answer. And\u200b when\u200d someone does go crazy, people need to be able \u200dto \u200ddefend themselves.
