Jim Jordan of Ohio.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAdditionally,\u2063 the forewoman of the special grand jury you convened \u2063to\u2062 investigate President Trump earlier this year bragged during an\u2063 unusual media \u200ctour about her excitement at the prospect of \u2063subpoenaing President Trump and \u200dgetting to swear him in,\u201d the letter said.<\/p>\n<p>The letter \u2062noted that \u201cA Fulton County court\u2062 has disqualified\u200b you from targeting\u200b current Georgia Lieutenant Governor Burt Jones as part\u2062 of your probe on the grounds that you actively supported and held fundraising\u200d events for his Democratic opponent.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe \u200ctiming of\u200c this prosecution reinforces\u200d concerns about your motivation,\u201d the letter continued.<\/p>\n<p>The \u200bdocument\u200d noted the \u200dtiming of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/ap-scores-trump-supporters-show-support-outside-georgia-jail-ahead-expected-surrender\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">investigation<\/a>, which began in February 2021.<\/p>\n<p>Willis \u201cdid not bring charges until two-and-a-half years later,\u2062 at a time when the campaign for the \u2064Republican presidential nomination is in full swing,\u201d the letter said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMoreover, you have requested that the trial in this matter \u2064begin on March 4, 2024, the \u2064day \u2063before\u200d Super \u200dTuesday and eight days \u200cbefore the Georgia presidential primary. It is therefore unsurprising \u2062many have \u200bspeculated that \u2063this\u2064 indictment and prosecution are designed to interfere\u200d with the 2024 \u200cpresidential election,\u201d \u2063the letter \u2064said.<\/p>\n<p>The letter said the indictment crosses <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/ap-georgia-prosecutor-fani-willis-proposes-date-trump-arraignment-trial\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">jurisdictional lines<\/a>,\u200d saying it \u2062\u201cappears to be an attempt to use state criminal\u2062 law to regulate the conduct of federal officers acting in their official capacities.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In one count, the \u2063letter noted, \u201cthe indictment seeks to criminalize under Georgia\u200d law the White \u200bHouse Chief of \u2064Staff \u200carranging \u2062meetings and phone calls for the President. Was\u2063 she communicating with\u200d the Executive Branch?\u2063 Were any federal funds used in the investigation of President Trump?\u201d Jordan wrote.<\/p>\n<p>The letter\u200c elaborates\u200d on that, saying \u201cthere are questions about whether and how your\u2064 office coordinated with DOJ Special Counsel Jack \u2062Smith during the course of this investigation,\u201d noting that many witnesses were interviewed by Georgia officials and \u200dDepartment\u2064 of Justice prosecutors.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe \u200dHouse Committee on the Judiciary (Committee) thus may \u2062investigate whether\u200c <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/evidence-mounts-that-capitol-breach-was-pre-planned-eroding-incitement-allegation-in-trump-impeachment-trial\/\" title=\"Evidence Mounts that Capitol Breach Was Pre-Planned, Eroding Incitement Allegation in Trump Impeachment Trial\">federal law enforcement agencies<\/a> or officials were \u2064involved\u2064 in your investigation or indictment.
