He argues that all\u200b the \u200bactions listed in\u2064 the \u2063indictment were taken in his capacity as a federal official. \u200cHe later filed a motion to dismiss all \u200bcharges, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/numerous-arguments-filed-to-remove-georgia-trump-case-from-state-court\/\" title=\"Many arguments made to transfer Georgia Trump case from state court.\">presenting additional defenses<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The \u200dhearing will be overseen by U.S.\u200c District Court Judge Steve Jones of \u2064the Northern\u2062 District \u2064of Georgia, an appointee of President \u2062Barack Obama.<\/p>\n<p>Raffensperger and\u2064 Frances Watson, the chief investigator for\u200b the Georgia \u2062Secretary of\u2064 State, have been subpoenaed to testify at \u2062the hearing. Attorneys\u200c Kurt Hilbert and Alex Kaufman have also \u200creceived subpoenas.<\/p>\n<div class=\"shortcode\">\n<div class=\"lazyload-wrapper\">\n<div class=\"lazyload-placeholder\"><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>In the upcoming hearing, the prosecution plans \u2062to argue that Meadows&#8217;s\u2064 actions were\u200d unrelated to his \u2063federal job and that he violated the Hatch Act \u200cby engaging in political activity.<\/p>\n<h2>Phone Call to Raffensperger<\/h2>\n<p>The 98-page indictment includes \u2063a total of \u206341 counts against the 19 \u200cdefendants.\u200c Meadows is specifically \u2063charged with\u2063 violating the RICO Act and \u200dsoliciting a \u200cviolation of\u200d oath\u2062 by a public\u200c officer.<\/p>\n<p>The indictment alleges that \u2064Meadows,\u200b along with President Trump, unlawfully solicited Raffensperger to alter or adjust the \u2062certified returns for presidential electors. Raffensperger is expected \u2062to testify about this matter.<\/p>\n<p>The infamous phone call \u2064between the president and Raffensperger is at the \u2062heart\u200b of the case. In the \u200crecorded call, President Trump raised concerns about\u200b election \u2064fraud and requested an investigation. His statement, &#8220;All I want to do is this. I just\u200c want to find 11,780 votes, which is one more than we have because we \u200bwon the state,&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/brian-stelter-ignores-blm-protesters-violent-attack-of-cnn-camera-crew\/\" title=\"Brian Stelter ignores BLM protesters violent attack of CNN camera crew\">gained widespread attention<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>President \u2062Trump&#8217;s attorneys have recently defended the call, asserting that it falls under\u2063 protected political speech.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;President Trump had every \u2064right to \u200bask the Secretary \u2064of State:\u2063 &#8216;I\u2062 believe that this election was conducted improperly. There are deficiencies here.
