Once certified, all gun stores\u2063 in \u2062New\u200c Jersey\u2064 will be required to carry at least one microstamp-enabled firearm for purchase.<\/p>\n<p>Although the implementation of these\u200c new standards and\u2063 procedures has faced delays, Attorney General Platkin\u200b remains optimistic about the potential\u2062 impact\u200c on public safety.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis amazing yet straightforward\u2064 technology \u2013 imprinting unique identifiers\u2064 on the firing pin of firearms\u2014will have a\u200c profound impact on \u2062public safety\u2064 across the state,\u201d said Mr. Platkin. \u201cThanks to \u200cGovernor Murphy, New Jersey is a national leader in innovative approaches to\u200d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/senate-judiciary-chairman-says-gun-control-is-top-priority\/\" title=\"Senate Judiciary Chairman Says Gun Control Is \u2018Top Priority\u2019\">reducing gun violence<\/a>, and microstamping is the latest example \u200bof \u2064that. However, the\u200d technology&#8217;s viability is \u2062still being determined, \u200cand performance requirements have yet to be established.<\/p>\n<p>Similarly, California enacted its own <a href=\"https:\/\/leginfo.legislature.ca.gov\/faces\/billNavClient.xhtml?bill_id=200720080AB1471&#038;search_keywords=\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">law<\/a> for \u200dfirearm microstamp technology \u2063in 2007.\u2063 Despite this, the state has not approved \u2062the sale of \u2064any new handguns featuring the technology.
