Now The Biden Administration Is Doing The Same Thing.\">lawful permanent residents<\/a>, which\u2062 the DOJ&#8217;s statement clarifies\u200c as untrue.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h3>Unfair Hiring Practices and Statistics<\/h3>\n<p>The lawsuit reveals \u200cthat\u2064 from September 1, 2018,\u2062 to September \u200b30,\u2064 2020, SpaceX \u200conly hired U.S. \u200dcitizens and lawful\u200b permanent residents. \u2062During\u2064 the period from September 2018 to \u2063May 2022,\u200c the company hired over 10,000 employees, with only one being an asylum-seeker. Notably, this individual \u2064was hired four months\u2062 after the investigation was \u200dinitiated by the IER. \u200dThese statistics were provided by SpaceX to the federal government.<\/p>\n<h3>DOJ&#8217;s Response and Call\u200c for Accountability<\/h3>\n<p>Assistant Attorney General Kristen Clarke of the DOJ&#8217;s Civil Rights Division stated, &#8220;Our investigation\u2062 found that SpaceX failed\u200b to \u2063fairly consider or\u2062 hire asylees and refugees because of \u2063their citizenship status, violating federal \u2062law.&#8221; Clarke further highlighted\u2062 that SpaceX recruiters and high-level officials actively \u2063discouraged\u200b asylees and refugees from seeking employment opportunities at the company.
