However, Warnock maintains that everything is\u2064 above board.<\/p>\n<p>In his most recent <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/Warnock-2022-Financial-Disclosure.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">financial disclosure<\/a> form, Warnock reported\u200b earning $155,000 from Ebenezer \u200dBaptist \u200dChurch in Atlanta. This amount \u200dfar exceeds the Senate&#8217;s limit of about $30,000, as\u2062 highlighted by The Free Beacon.<\/p>\n<p>Warnock argues that the payment was deferred \u2064compensation \u2062for work he did with the church before being sworn into the Senate in January 2021. In 2021, The Free Beacon reported that Warnock used a &#8220;creative accounting trick&#8221; by designating a portion of his church \u200cincome as a\u2062 &#8220;parsonage allowance&#8221; to maintain his home. Neither Warnock nor Ebenezer\u2062 Baptist Church has responded to requests for comment from The Free Beacon.<\/p>\n<p>The findings have prompted calls for an investigation.
