The reasons behind this dislike vary\u2064 between \u2063genders.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>The Female Perspective<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">When it comes to women&#8217;s grievances with dating apps, one recurring complaint\u200b is that men often misrepresent themselves. This behavior seems \u200cperplexing. What is the purpose of deceiving someone? Does the\u200d woman believe she can trick\u200b him into staying solely for her personality? The reality is that the person will eventually see the real you. In fact, if I had an online\u2064 dating profile, I would \u200cintentionally choose a slightly less attractive photo of myself to pleasantly surprise my date when we\u2063 meet. So why do women feel the need to lie\u2062 about their appearance? Why do they pretend \u200bto have a different smile, body, or skin tone?<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>The Male Perspective<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">On the other hand, when I spoke to men about their experiences with online \u200bdating, their primary complaint was that women often fail \u2063to \u2064respond after an initial conversation. Men make an effort to reach out and\u200d engage in conversation, only to be met with\u2062 silence. \u200bThis behavior is equally\u200c puzzling.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/show\/candace\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">WATCH: Candace Owens<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">To gain a deeper understanding of these motivations, I asked women why they heavily edit their photos. \u200bOne woman responded by saying that cameras tend to add a few extra pounds. While this may have been a\u2064 valid concern \u2064in the\u2063 past, it seems less relevant in today&#8217;s technologically advanced world. Another woman\u2064 mentioned \u2064editing the lighting or background but not altering her physical appearance. This seems fair and understandable. However, \u200dit was the next response that struck me as the most honest. A woman admitted to editing\u200d her\u200d photos \u200bto impress others and due to her own insecurities. I believe this answer gets to the heart of the issue. \u2064Many women edit their photos because they don&#8217;t anticipate meeting \u200bin person. These apps provide a distraction and boost their self-confidence when\u2064 men compliment their\u200c beauty or express \u200dinterest. Even if the date never materializes, they feel \u200bvalidated and desired.\u2064 This desire for validation leads \u2062women to essentially advertise something that isn&#8217;t real.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">From a male perspective, the issue seems to be different. Men view dating \u2062apps as a numbers game. By reaching out to numerous \u2064women with\u2064 varying looks, they hope to receive responses from a select few who they consider to be highly attractive. If no one from this elite group responds, they \u2064move on to the next tier. The mindset is that eventually, they will catch \u200ca big enough fish.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Unfortunately, this advancement in technology has inadvertently caused a regression \u200cin our ability to communicate and connect with others.
