Version: 4.0.47--><div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<figure>\n        <!-- Image goes here --><br \/>\n      <\/figure>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<blockquote>\n<h2>Republicans Demand Answers from Fulton County DA<\/h2>\n<p>Republicans on the\u2063 House Judiciary Committee sent a letter \u2062to Fulton County\u200b District Attorney\u2064 Fani Willis on Thursday demanding the Democrat prosecutor provide answers over her indictment\u200d of former President Donald Trump and\u2062 his associates.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYour indictment and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/house-republicans-launch-probe-into-fulton-countys-politically-motivated-trump-indictments\/\" title=\"House Republicans investigate Fulton County's alleged politically motivated Trump indictments.\">prosecution implicate substantial federal interests<\/a>, and the \u200dcircumstances surrounding\u2062 your actions\u2062 raise serious concerns\u2062 about whether they are politically motivated,\u201d the letter \u200dreads.<\/p>\n<p>Last week, \u2064Willis <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/08\/15\/how-stupid-is-the-georgia-anti-trump-case-they-indicted-trump-for-tweeting-at-people-to-watch-tv\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">announced<\/a> her office would \u200bbe charging Trump and 18 of his associates for what she\u200d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/documents\/1ccdf52e-1ba2-434c-93f8-2a7020293967.pdf?itid=lk_inline_manual_5\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">claims<\/a> was\u200c an attempt to \u201cconspire[] and endeavor[] to conduct and participate \u200cin criminal enterprise\u201d to overturn the results of the \u200d2020 election. \u2062Included in \u2064the bogus 98-page \u2062indictment are several <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/08\/15\/fulton-countys-bogus-trump-indictment-is-democrats-latest-attempt-to-criminalize-free-speech\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">acts<\/a> Willis\u2063 contends contributed to \u200bthe \u201cfurtherance\u201d of the so-called conspiracy, such as tweets issued \u200cby\u200d Trump encouraging\u200c people to watch Georgia legislative oversight hearings on TV and a \u2062text message asking for phone\u200c numbers sent by former White House Chief of \u2064Staff Mark \u2064Meadows.<\/p>\n<p>In their letter to Willis, Republicans on the \u200cHouse Judiciary Committee questioned\u200b the Fulton\u200b County DA\u2019s rationale for charging Trump and \u200dhis associates and raised several examples indicating her prosecution of \u200dthe \u200dformer president is \u201cpolitically motivated.\u201d Among those cited \u2064is Willis\u2019 purported launch of a new campaign fundraising site \u201cthat highlighted [her] investigation into President \u2063Trump\u201d several days before her\u2062 office indicted the former commander-in-chief.<\/p>\n<p>Also referenced are public remarks by Emily Kohrs, the forewoman of the special grand\u2062 jury convened by Willis, who openly <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/media\/cnn-msnbc-pan-trump-grand-jury-forepersons-media-blitz-after-bolstering-profile-interviews\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">bragged<\/a> during interviews with regime-approved media \u201cabout her excitement at the prospect of subpoenaing President Trump and getting \u2062to swear him in.\u201d The letter also invoked the decision by Fulton County\u2019s superior court \u2064clerk to prematurely release \u201ca list of criminal charges\u200b against President \u200cTrump reportedly hours \u200bbefore the vote \u2063of the grand \u200djury.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>While a\u2064 statement issued by \u2064the court clerk\u2019s office originally claimed the document showing \u200bthe \u200ccharges against Trump was \u201cfictitious,\u201d the clerk later <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2023\/08\/16\/georgia-clerk-admits-early-trump-charge-post-i-am-human\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">asserted<\/a> it was a \u201cmishap\u201d and that \u201cwhen [she] hit save, \u200cit\u2064 went to \u2063the press queue.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In explaining their rationale for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/biden-justice-department-pick-opposed-enforcing-civil-rights-laws-against-blacks\/\" title=\"Biden Justice Department Pick Opposed Enforcing Civil Rights Laws Against Blacks\">federal oversight<\/a> of the Georgia-based \u200bindictments, House Republicans \u200creferenced \u2062Willis\u2019 alleged attempt to \u201cuse state criminal \u2062law to regulate the \u2064conduct\u2064 of federal officers acting \u2064in their official capacities,\u201d such as that of Trump and \u2063Meadows.
