Could there be \u200danything more egregious than putting this <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/politics\/2023\/08\/20\/hunter-biden-david-weiss-special-prosecutor-delaware\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">uniquely<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/white-house\/democratic-donors-biden-friends-weiss-office\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">conflicted<\/a> fox in charge of\u2063 the henhouse? \u2063Weiss was the \u2063very\u200b man who had led the \u200dfaux investigation and sham prosecution of Hunter Biden in the first place\u200d that, having culminated in a collapsed \u200dplea deal, compelled Garland to empower a special \u200bcounsel \u2063to bring\u2062 charges elsewhere.<\/p>\n<p>The appointment was made in\u200d violation of the\u2062 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/appointing-weiss-is-just-part-of-dojs-plan-to-save-face-in-the-scandalous-hunter-biden-investigation\/\" title=\"Weiss appointment aids DOJ's face-saving in Hunter Biden probe.\">special counsel regulations requiring unimpeachable appointees<\/a> who come from\u2063 outside the government to boot.<\/p>\n<p>If for no other reason than the \u201coptics\u201d of \u200cit, one would think Garland would have followed the rules \u2063in appointing \u200dan\u200c \u201cindependent\u201d special counsel \u2064to handle \u2064a crooked probe of the president\u2019s son, concerning\u200c crimes\u200d tied to\u2064 the \u2064monetizing of the president\u2019s past office, \u2062led by the president\u2019s Justice Department.<\/p>\n<p>But then,\u200b Garland has \u2062many circles to square, and at least one reason to\u2062 make Weiss the mop-up\u200b man in a long-running Justice\u2064 Department conspiracy to \u2062obstruct \u200bjustice for Hunter Biden to protect Joe Biden.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-a3402524f3d5a42c43efa41e9bd76955 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-6\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-a3402524f3d5a42c43efa41e9bd76955\"><\/div>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step One: Position the Parties \u200bAgainst Each \u200bOther <\/h2>\n<p>To understand why the attorney general has acted as he has, ask\u200c yourself, the DOJ\u2019s corruption having been exposed, what \u200bwould you do in a desperate bid to save face?<\/p>\n<p>First,\u200c you would make it seem as if DOJ and Team Biden are <a href=\"https:\/\/weingarten.substack.com\/p\/fix-still-in-in-conspiracy-between\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">adversarial<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Up to\u200b the moment the Justice Department and Hunter Biden\u2019s lawyers faced questioning over \u2063their sweetheart settlement in a Delaware courtroom, you would have been forgiven for thinking the two \u201csides\u201d were \u2062not one and the same, co-counselors.<\/p>\n<p>What\u200b more could the president\u2019s son have asked \u200cof\u200c the president\u2019s Justice\u2063 Department and \u2062its partners than \u200cto let\u2064 statutes of limitation on his \u2063most <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/JsnFostr\/status\/1691836608629096953?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">politically explosive<\/a> alleged crimes lapse; spike crucial search warrants, critical approaches, and key interviews \u2014 including of Hunter\u200d himself; hide material information from IRS investigators; wave off FARA charges directly pertaining to the\u200d Biden family\u2019s international\u200b influence-peddling business; and prevent the pursuit of leads pointing \u2064to Joe Biden?<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-4186c94993733fcacc893535117a38f3 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-10\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-4186c94993733fcacc893535117a38f3\"><\/div>\n<p>DOJ was \u200dprepared to let the case die until the whistleblowers exposed all of this, causing the Department to blink \u200b\u2026 into colluding with\u200b Hunter Biden\u2019s team to craft an unprecedented and indefensible sweetheart settlement. Only\u2064 when \u2064Delaware Judge \u2064Maryellen Noreika <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/07\/27\/how-a-federal-judge-turned-the-tables-on-hunter-bidens-plea-deal\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">questioned that settlement<\/a> in court did the interests of the two sides \u2014 \u2062heretofore aligned in \u200dtheir desire to disappear the scandal of the \u200dBiden family\u2019s selling out of America\u2062 to adversaries\u2064 and kleptocracies \u2014 diverge.<\/p>\n<p>Hunter Biden\u2019s team coveted the global immunity get-out-of-jail-free \u2063card hidden in\u2062 the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/hunter-biden-prosecutor-forced-to-make-confession-in-court-judge-orders-him-to-sit-down\/\" title=\"Hunter Biden's prosecutor compelled to confess in court, judge commands him to be seated.\">pretrial diversion\u2064 agreement<\/a> \u200bfor which Hunter arguably should have been \u2063ineligible, and that no court was supposed to be able to touch. But when Noreika asked \u2064the DOJ if this was really what \u200dit \u200bwas offering, irrespective of what it had \u200drepresented to Hunter\u200d Biden\u2019s lawyers as they \u200dnegotiated the deal, there was\u200c no way the DOJ\u200d could \u2063stand by it.\u200c It would have been\u2062 too reputationally damaging. The DOJ now had to put its own interests\u2063 before those of \u200bthe Bidens.<\/p>\n<p>Hunter Biden\u2019s team \u2063is\u200c no doubt\u200c genuinely livid the agreement fell apart. The\u2063 DOJ is no doubt embarrassed \u200cthe judge, in scrutinizing the agreement, exposed the department\u2019s\u2063 institutional rot.<\/p>\n<p>Now Hunter\u200c Biden\u2019s defense\u200b is\u2064 going on \u200dthe offensive, intimating litigation \u2063may be coming over the collapsed deal. We have also\u200b learned his counsel threatened the Justice Department\u200b that Joe Biden would testify on Hunter\u2019s behalf to dissuade it \u200cfrom \u200dprosecuting. It is leaking details of the investigation to the press to paint the DOJ as\u200b political \u2014 not for \u200chaving been\u2064 too lenient on Hunter, \u2063but for being too tough on \u200dhim in caving to the whistleblowers and bringing charges.<\/p>\n<p>This is \u2062a\u2063 purposeful rift that may\u200d provide cover should\u2063 Hunter Biden ultimately emerge scot-free.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step Two: Give the Appearance of \u2062 Tough Prosecutors <\/h2>\n<p>This brings us to the\u200c second thing the \u2064DOJ would want to do if it were trying to save face: create the appearance\u2063 of ratcheting \u2062up its prosecution.<\/p>\n<p>Appointing a special counsel definitionally creates such an appearance, while serving both \u200csides\u2019 shared interest in washing their hands of the case in the least damaging way. Delaware was not the \u2063proper venue\u2063 for Hunter\u2019s tax-related \u2062offenses. The DOJ brought its case there because Hunter agreed to waive any venue challenge and\u200d plead guilty in\u2062 his native state.<\/p>\n<p>The\u2063 proper venues for such crimes would have been Washington, D.C., and\/or the Central District of California. The Biden-appointed\u200c U.S. attorneys in those \u200bjurisdictions, however, had refused Weiss the ability \u200dto \u2062bring the charges before\u200b \u2014\u200b charges perhaps only brought because the embattled\u200d scrupulous officials working the case had fought so hard for them.<\/p>\n<p>With the DOJ \u2063and Hunter Biden\u2019s team concurring the tax charges case ought to be dismissed from Delaware, and Judge\u200d Noreika granting them their\u2062 wish,\u2064 both\u2062 \u201csides\u201d\u200b can now seek \u200cout a more \u2063favorable venue\u200b and judge, should\u2062 charges ever \u2064be brought.<\/p>\n<p>Elevating Weiss to special counsel allows him to bring tax charges\u2063 in the very venues where he \u2064had been denied previously \u2013 something DOJ has \u2063claimed it will do. This self-evidently contradicts Garland\u2019s past claims about Weiss\u2019s\u2064 past authority, \u2062but nevertheless presents\u2064 the appearance of \u200cratcheting up the seriousness\u200d of the prosecutorial effort.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step Three: Seize Control of the Narrative<\/h2>\n<p>This brings us to the third thing the \u200bJustice Department \u2062would want to do to\u200d save face: seize control of the narrative. With his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/exclusive-stefanik-cawthorn-support-appointing-special-counsel-on-biden-family-china-ties\/\" title=\"Exclusive -- Stefanik, Cawthorn Support\u00a0Appointing Special Counsel on Biden Family China Ties\">special counsel appointment<\/a>,\u200c Weiss is empowered\u2064 to draft\u2064 a final report on the case. Therein, he can whitewash the\u2064 DOJ\u2019s entire obstructive effort. Who better \u2063to absolve the DOJ of wrongdoing than the man who oversaw all of it?<\/p>\n<p>Importantly for Garland, Weiss can \u201charmonize\u201d\u200d his\u200d story with that of the\u200d attorney general \u200dabout who had what power and\u200b when, and regarding the purported \u2062 <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/tristanleavitt\/status\/1693135112047649035?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">non-interference<\/a> of <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/tristanleavitt\/status\/1693654100884193506?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">main DOJ<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Weiss can also \u200cuse the report to rebut, if \u200bnot smear, the \u200dIRS whistleblowers. Theoretically, he could\u2063 even go further than that. Hunter\u200c Biden\u2019s counsel has called for \u200bthe whistleblowers \u200bto be investigated. What if Weiss targets\u2063 them \u2064pursuant\u200b to his charge to probe \u200c\u201cany matters that arose from\u201d the Hunter \u200bBiden investigation?<\/p>\n<p>In \u200cthe interim, though Congress <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/08\/21\/no-appointing-a-special-counsel-is-not-a-license-for-doj-to-obstruct-congress\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">by no\u200c means need respect the\u2063 claim<\/a>, Weiss could stonewall its effort by invoking the need to protect\u2062 an \u201congoing investigation,\u201d further controlling the narrative.<\/p>\n<p>The DOJ\u2019s stonewalling\u2062 over\u200c the case has already <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/mirandadevine\/status\/1694136362822205591?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">begun<\/a> in <a href=\"https:\/\/judiciary.house.gov\/media\/press-releases\/judiciary-ways-and-means-committees-issue-subpoenas-compelling-witness\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">earnest<\/a>. If scrutiny dies down, Weiss could let further statutes of limitation lapse. He could slow-walk the \u2064case into a freeze as we approach the 2024 presidential\u2063 election \u2063cycle. He could seek to craft a new \u200d<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/ghislaine-maxwell-now-accusing-prison-guard-of-abuse\/\" title=\"Ghislaine Maxwell Now Accusing Prison Guard Of Abuse\">sweetheart plea deal<\/a> to provide Hunter immunity should \u200bthe threat \u2064of prosecution\u200b increase \u2063with a Republican-elected \u2063president in\u2063 2024. If left without any alternative but to bring charges, and somehow finding himself with an inhospitable judge and jury, he \u200dcould try \u2064to \u201cthrow\u201d any case \u2063he brings. <\/p>\n<p>The working assumption should be that Weiss is not so much a\u2064 special counsel as\u200b the controlled opposition \u2014 newly empowered to only \u200bfurther thwart justice, not mete it out.<\/p>\n<p>The only\u200c way to\u2062 prevent a continued travesty of justice is for men and women of character in the executive, legislative,\u200c and\u200c judicial branches\u2064 to act\u2062 aggressively to expose this skullduggery, punish its\u2064 perpetrators, and ensure the genuine rule of\u2064 law is pursued and\u200b no \u200dman is above it.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-ff4951c456d63f82b678341a9afe7f04 fdrlst__b89e9-after-post-content\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-ff4951c456d63f82b678341a9afe7f04\"><\/div>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\">    \t\t\t\t\t   \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Biden family&#8217;s international influence-peddling scandal is one of the biggest in US history.
