In this engaging conversation, \u200bTrump didn&#8217;t hold back as he criticized \u2062his rival presidential candidates, President Joe Biden, and addressed\u200d the four criminal cases he currently faces.<\/p>\n<p>In a surprising move that snubbed the Republican National Committee and Fox News, \u2063Trump\u2063 opted out of the first primary debate of the 2024 cycle. Instead, he released a prerecorded interview with Carlson on X, the\u2062 platform formerly\u200c known as Twitter, just five minutes before the debate was set to begin.<\/p>\n<h3>Up for\u2063 Debate: Where Trump, DeSantis, and the Rest of the Republican\u2063 2024 Field Stand on Key Issues<\/h3>\n<p>Explaining his decision to skip the debate, Trump told Carlson, &#8220;I just felt it would be more appropriate not to do it. I don&#8217;t think it&#8217;s right to\u2063 do\u2063 it.&#8221; He expressed \u200chis reluctance to face a barrage of questions from multiple\u2064 candidates, stating that while he enjoys answering them, it simply didn&#8217;t make sense for him to participate.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the eight candidates who \u200ddid\u200b take\u200d the stage in Milwaukee\u2063 aimed to make their case to the audience, hoping to convince them that they should be the GOP&#8217;s next standard-bearer. During his interview with Carlson, Trump didn&#8217;t\u200d hold back, declaring the DeSantis\u2062 campaign as &#8220;gonzo&#8221; and claiming that Fox News was finished with him.<\/p>\n<p>Trump \u200ddidn&#8217;t stop there. He also took shots at former New Jersey \u2063Gov. Chris Christie, calling him a &#8220;savage maniac,&#8221; and criticized\u2063 former Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson, labeling him as &#8220;weak and pathetic.&#8221; Additionally, \u200bTrump expressed\u2062 his disappointment in his former <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/republican-debate-trump-tells-tucker-carlson-his-rivals-are-weak-maniac-and-gonzo\/\" title=\"Trump criticizes his Republican rivals as 'weak,' 'maniac,' and 'gonzo' during debate with Tucker Carlson.\">running mate-turned-rival<\/a>, Mike Pence, stating that he hadn&#8217;t spoken\u2064 to him in a long time and was very disappointed in him.<\/p>\n<p>Despite Trump&#8217;s absence from the debate, his senior advisor Chris LaCivita boldly declared him the winner. &#8220;President Trump has already won this evening&#8217;s debate\u2064 because everything is going to \u200cbe about \u2062him,&#8221; LaCivita confidently stated. He emphasized that only Trump possesses the policy ideas, fortitude,\u2064 and polling numbers to go\u200b head-to-head\u2064 with President Joe \u2063Biden in the general election.<\/p>\n<p>As the undisputed\u200d front-runner in the\u200b GOP primary race, Trump\u200b leads all other rivals in both national and state \u200dpolls. However, he acknowledged that his opponents would view their attacks as &#8220;fraud,&#8221; especially considering his two impeachments and increasing \u2062legal troubles.<\/p>\n<p>When \u200basked about potential violence \u200cagainst himself or the possibility of a\u2064 civil war, Trump responded with stark comments, expressing concern over the level of passion and hatred he has witnessed. He also didn&#8217;t shy away from using an\u200c expletive to dismiss his indictments, calling them &#8220;bulls***.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Interestingly, \u200dTrump&#8217;s flippant remark came just one day before he was expected to surrender \u2062at the Fulton County, Georgia, jail.
