Raise your hand if you do,\u201d moderator Martha\u200b MacCallum asked the \u200ccandidates.<\/p>\n<p>Before any candidate could \u200brespond, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/battle-second-desantis-urged-defend-trump-hammer-ramaswamy-debate-report\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">DeSantis<\/a> said, \u201cLook, we\u2019re not school\u2064 children.\u2063 Let\u2019s\u2064 have the \u2064debate. I\u2019m happy to start.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Biden \u2064was on the \u200bbeach while those \u2062people were suffering \u2062in Maui. You have to lead. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/CgeaMHUCCF\">pic.twitter.com\/CgeaMHUCCF<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Ron DeSantis (@RonDeSantis)\u2064 <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RonDeSantis\/status\/1694524680105762937?\">August 24, 2023<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t think that\u2019s the way to do it,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n<p>DeSantis began to argue that the corporate media is\u2062 one of the reasons\u200b the nation\u2064 is in \u2063decline, perhaps \u2062suggesting it has had a \u2064major influence on how\u200c people view the issue of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/yellen-eager-to-work-with-china-on-debt-other-global-challenges\/\" title=\"Yellen \u2018eager\u2019 to work with China on debt, other global challenges\">climate\u200c change<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>Another Stand Out Moment for DeSantis<\/h3>\n<p>Another stand \u200cout moment for DeSantis during <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/gop-debate-starts-off-bang-candidates-booed-immediately-introduced\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the \u2062debate<\/a> was in response to whether\u2063 \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/bidenomics-fail-americans-increasingly-forced-dip-retirement-accounts-make-ends-meet-major-bank-reveals\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bidenomics<\/a>\u201d was working to build a strong economy.<\/p>\n<p>He indicated \u2063it was not.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhy are we\u2063 in this mess?\u201d the Florida governor asked.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPart of it, and a \u2064major\u200b reason, is because of how this federal government handled \u200bCOVID-19\u200d by locking down this \u2064economy. It was\u200b a mistake.
