The policy was approved by a 3-2 vote during a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/breaking-israel-and-hamas-agree-to-ceasefire-proposal-brokered-by-egypt\/\" title=\"BREAKING: Israel And Hamas Agree To Ceasefire; Proposal Brokered By Egypt\">late-night meeting<\/a> on August 22.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;Parents love their children and feel\u2062 passionately about them &#8230; and with rare exception, parents \u200bwill always love\u200c their children more and\u200d deeper than any other adult, including\u200d a trusted teacher,&#8221; said board president Joseph Komrosky. &#8220;No one is more important to \u200dthe mental health \u200cof a\u2064 child than their own \u200dparents.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The new rule\u200c requires schools to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/another-southern-california-school-district-to-inform-parents-of-childs-gender-status\/\" title=\"Southern California school district to notify parents about child's gender status.\">provide written notification<\/a> to parents within\u200d three \u2062days if their child identifies as transgender, exhibits violent behavior,\u2062 or\u2063 expresses \u200dthoughts \u200bof suicide. This policy is similar to those recently enacted by the Chino Valley Unified and \u200bMurrieta \u2063Valley Unified school districts in southern\u200d California.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, parents must be notified if their child \u200drequests to \u200buse names, pronouns, athletic\u200d programs, bathrooms,\u2064 or locker rooms that do not align with their biological sex or gender. Any requests to\u2062 change information\u2064 in\u2062 school records must also be communicated to parents.<\/p>\n<p>The policy drew a crowd of approximately\u200d 200 parents, teachers, students, and\u2063 community members who passionately \u200bexpressed their opinions during the public comment\u2064 session of the meeting.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;Your kids do \u2064not belong to the government. We\u2064 do not co-parent with the district,&#8221; emphasized trustee Danny Gonzalez. &#8220;The district should offer support, resources, and anything else needed to facilitate the success of our students, and you, the parent, are fundamental in this \u200deffort.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Opponents of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/california-school-district-considers-notifying-parents-if-child-identifies-as-transgender\/\" title=\"California school district may inform parents if child identifies as transgender.\">policy raised concerns<\/a> that it could put LGBT students at risk if their parents are\u2064 unsupportive.\u200d However, supporters argued that parents play a crucial role in their children&#8217;s lives \u2062and should be involved \u2062in decisions\u200b regarding their wellbeing.<\/p>\n<p>California Attorney General Rob Bonta\u2064 issued a statement denouncing the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/more-california-school-districts-decide-to-inform-parents-of-childs-gender-status\/\" title=\"More CA school districts inform parents about child's gender status.\">parent\u200c notification policies implemented<\/a> by Temecula Valley Unified,\u2063 Chino Valley Unified, and\u2062 Murrieta Valley Unified.
