The\u2064 Republican\u2064 frontrunner cited \u2063Carlson\u2019s rankings as the No. 1 host \u2062on cable television. \u201cWe\u2019ll get bigger ratings \u200cusing this crazy forum that you\u2019re using than probably\u200c the debate \u200bor competition.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure><\/figure>\n<p>Trump opted to skip the debate hosted by Carlson\u2019s prior network for a 45-minute \u2063sit-down\u2062 published on X, formerly \u200dknown \u200bas Twitter, five minutes before the start of the Fox News debate in Milwaukee. \u200dThe\u2063 interview\u200b racked up more than \u206435 \u2062million views\u200c within 20 \u2063minutes of publication. \u200cEven Georgia Republican \u200cRep. Marjorie Taylor \u2062Greene \u2063was spotted \u2062at the Wisconsin debate streaming the Trump-Carlson interview from a cell phone.<\/p>\n<figure><\/figure>\n<p>The \u200cformer president went on to tear into cable news, on the same night his Republican rivals sparred on \u200dstage in \u200cWisconsin.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think cable\u2019s down because it\u2019s lost \u2062credibility,\u201d\u200c Trump said, repeatedly referring\u200b to cable news as \u201ccorrupt news.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Trump\u200c skipped the debate after refusing \u200bto sign the Republican National Committee\u2019s \u200cagreement\u200d that each candidate\u2064 would pledge to support the \u2063<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/desantis-reveals-debate-decision-only-5-candidates-qualify-for-the-event\/\" title=\"DeSantis announces debate decision: Just 5 candidates make the cut.\">eventual party nominee<\/a>. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realclearpolitics.com\/epolls\/2024\/president\/us\/2024_republican_presidential_nomination-7548.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">According<\/a> to RealClearPolitics\u2019 latest aggregate of polls,\u2062 Trump is leading the Republican presidential contest by more than 40 points.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<p>Tristan\u2063 Justice is the\u200d western correspondent \u200cfor The Federalist and the author of Social Justice\u200b Redux, a conservative newsletter on culture, health,\u200c and \u2064wellness.
