Failure to comply with these restrictions could result in\u2062 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/monday-november-1st-2021\/\" title=\"Monday | November 1st, 2021\">potential legal action<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Ben Shapiro, the \u200dfounding editor-in-chief and editor emeritus of The Daily Wire and\u2062 host\u200c of \u201cThe Ben Shapiro Show,\u201d expressed\u2062 his disbelief\u2063 at the memo\u200d sent out\u200d by Fox News. \u200bThe memo states that during the seven-day period following the debate, no media outlet can air more than a total \u200dof three minutes of excerpts \u200cfrom\u2062 the debate\u200c in \u200dany one \u200dprogram, including video and audio.<\/p>\n<p>Shapiro \u200ccriticized this\u200c approach, stating,\u200d \u201cThey\u2019re treating this like \u200ca football game or like a baseball\u2063 game, which is nuts.\u200b This is newsworthy material involving the presidential candidates, the people who are \u200cgoing to represent you at the \u200btop levels \u200dof American government. And\u2062 Fox\u2064 News is\u2062 saying that you\u2019re not allowed to hear from \u200cthem unless you watch the debate live, or unless\u2063 you\u2019re watching Fox News. That\u2019s totally crazy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He further explained the \u2064implications of these restrictions, \u200dhighlighting the difficulty in understanding what happened in the debate without being\u2064 able\u2064 to access clips \u200cand \u2064commentary. \u200bShapiro \u2064argued that Fox News is trying to monopolize viewership\u2062 on their own network, but called their actions\u2064 &#8220;ridiculous.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Shapiro believes that Fox News is desperately trying to hold onto its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/daily-feed-5-12-23\/\" title=\"Daily Update 5\/12\/23\">declining user base<\/a>, but the information\u2062 they are \u2062trying to restrict should be considered fair use and relevant for conservatives \u2062across the country.
