Google has a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/twitter-elon-musk-saga-whats-next-in-the-takeover-battle\/\" title=\"Twitter\u2013Elon Musk Saga: What\u2019s Next in the Takeover Battle?\">multibillion-dollar deal<\/a> with the NFL, allowing it to exclusively hold the broadcast rights \u2063for Sunday Ticket games shown on\u2062 YouTube\u2063 starting with\u2062 the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/actress-sarah-paulson-talks-finding-the-humanity-in-clinton-whistleblower-linda-tripp\/\" title=\"Actress Sarah Paulson Talks \u2018Finding The Humanity\u2019 In Clinton Whistleblower Linda Tripp\">upcoming season<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>The \u2062Case Explained<\/h3>\n<blockquote>\n<p><em>Each NFL team entered into a \u201cTeams-NFL Agreement\u201d with the NFL\u2064 to pool their telecasting rights and give the\u200b NFL the authority to exercise those rights. Acting on behalf\u200b of its \u200bteams, the NFL entered into two additional\u200d agreements licensing the teams\u2019 \u200btelecast rights. Under the \u201cNFL-Network Agreement,\u201d\u2064 CBS and\u2062 Fox \u200ccoordinate\u2064 to \u200ccreate a\u2062 single \u2062telecast for every Sunday-afternoon NFL game, and the NFL permits CBS and Fox to broadcast a limited number of what are known as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/soros-backed-da-cut-plea-deals-with-violent-criminals-represented-by-campaign-donors\/\" title=\"Soros-Backed DA Cut Plea Deals With Violent Criminals Represented by Campaign Donors\">local games<\/a> through free, over-the-air television.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Under the \u201cNFL-DirecTV Agreement,\u201d \u2062the NFL allows\u200c DirecTV to obtain all of the live telecasts produced\u2063 by CBS and Fox, package those telecasts, and\u2062 deliver the bundled feeds to NFL Sunday Ticket subscribers. Plaintiffs\u200c alleged that defendants\u2019 interlocking agreements work together to\u200b suppress competition for the sale\u200d of \u2063professional football\u2062 game telecasts in violation of \u00a7\u00a7 1 and\u200b 2 of \u200bthe Sherman Act.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The \u2064subscribers in the new lawsuit want Google to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/google-sued-by-football-subscribers-wanting-info-on-nfl-conspiracy\/\" title=\"Football subscribers sue Google for NFL 'conspiracy' information.\">supply information \u2014 including retail pricing<\/a>, rights fees, and subscriber numbers \u2014\u2064 for \u200ctheir case against NFL and DirecTV. DirecTV hosted Sunday Ticket before Google. In their case against the NFL, the subscribers accused the NFL, its teams, and DirecTV of \u2063conspiring to limit the\u200c availability of televised games, thus boosting the price for Sunday\u2064 Ticket.<\/p>\n<p>The NFL has denied the claims of a conspiracy, stating\u200c that the plaintiffs\u2019 had not identified \u201cany evidence that\u2064 could transform a lawful exclusive\u200d distribution agreement into an unlawful antitrust conspiracy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The plaintiffs claim Google gave only three\u2063 documents, what the plaintiffs \u200bcalled \u201csummary presentations,\u201d regarding its Sunday Ticket deal, and the paucity \u2062of information \u201cdoes not even scratch the surface\u201d \u200cof relevant information. \u201cEvidence that the NFL imposed restrictions\u2064 on Google will \u200bsupport plaintiffs\u2019 claims that the NFL \u2062imposed these same restraints on \u200bDirecTV during the class period,\u2063 to \u200cthe \u200bdetriment of consumers,\u2019 the \u200dplaintiffs\u2019 \u200clawyers claimed.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A lawsuit was filed by Sunday Ticket subscribers against Google.
