According to Fox Business, the 110-store chain based in Rochester, New York, has admitted that\u200b customers were\u200c double-charged for \u200dtransactions on August 16.<\/p>\n<p>One customer, Jessica Figueroa, \u2063took to Facebook to warn others about the \u2063issue. She wrote, \u200b&#8221;So if you shopped\u2063 at Wegmans yesterday, double-check your account. According to WVIB-TV, the company issued a statement saying, &#8220;We recently identified an issue with credit card transactions \u2063processed \u200bon August 16th for both in-store and online orders. Some <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/major-payment-processor-works-with-left-wing-charity-tied-to-palestinian-terrorism\/\" title=\"Payment processor partners with Palestinian terrorism-linked left-wing charity.\">credit card\u2063 transactions<\/a> were inadvertently charged \u200dtwice for\u2063 their order, however, EBT\u2062 and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/small-businesses-decreased-by-nearly-40-since-first-covid-19-case-in-us\/\" title=\"Small Businesses Decreased By Nearly 40% Since First COVID-19 Case In US\">debit card transactions<\/a> were not affected.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Wegmans \u2063assured\u200d customers that they are \u200dworking with their\u2062 processor to reverse the charges. \u2063The company \u200cexpects the duplicate charges to be reversed in the coming days, depending on the customers&#8217; banks or issuers.<\/p>\n<p>However, a\u200c later statement clarified that \u200cthe impact was wider than \u200cinitially \u200dannounced. According to WHEC-TV, Wegmans\u200d stated, &#8220;Customers who swipe their debit card, select debit,\u200b and use their PIN\u2063 number were not impacted. Siegfried stated, &#8220;It&#8217;s still hitting my bank account like a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/check-your-bank-statements-glitch-causes-customers-to-be-double-charged\/\" title=\"Bank customers double-charged due to glitch - review statements.\">regular debit card transaction<\/a>, so what if I was a person who did that \u2063\u2014 ya know, I have extra in my account, I have \u200ca \u200dline \u200bof credit\u200c on my checking account, but not everybody has that.&#8221; She emphasized the potential\u200d financial strain this glitch\u2064 could cause for \u2064customers.<\/p>\n<p>It is crucial for all Wegmans customers who made\u200c purchases on August 16 to carefully review their bank statements and report any double charges.
