The\u200c storm is\u2062 forecast, however,\u2064 to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/severe-weather-tracks-towards-southeast-potential-for-tornadoes-thunderstorms\/\" title=\"Severe weather tracks towards Southeast, potential for tornadoes, thunderstorms\">bring heavy rain<\/a> \u2062to \u2063the state\u2063 through\u200c late\u200c Wednesday, Aug. \u200d23.<\/p>\n<p>Storm warnings were\u2062 discontinued on Tuesday\u2063 evening. \u200dHowever, \u200cup to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nhc.noaa.gov\/text\/refresh\/MIAWPCAT4+shtml\/231457.shtml\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">4 \u2062inches\u2064 of rain<\/a> are expected \u200cin parts of Texas through Wednesday, according to the National Hurricane Center. Greg Abbott issued orders on Aug. 21 to deploy state emergency response resources. The Texas \u2063State Emergency Operations Center was activated to &#8220;Escalated Response Conditions.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>In a \u200c <a href=\"https:\/\/gov.texas.gov\/news\/post\/governor-abbott-deploys-resources-ahead-of-tropical-depression-nine\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">statement<\/a>, Mr. Abbott said all available resources would be deployed to South \u200dTexas \u200cahead of the storm.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I encourage Texans\u2064 to remain \u2062weather-aware and heed the guidance of state \u200cand local officials and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/florida-grapples-with-rising-death-toll-power-outages-as-ian-moves-on-to-carolinas\/\" title=\"Florida Grapples With Rising Death Toll, Power Outages As Ian Moves On To Carolinas\">emergency management personnel<\/a>\u200d as they work together to \u200bkeep communities \u2063safe,&#8221; \u2064he added.<\/p>\n<h2>Heat Alerts for 22 States<\/h2>\n<p>Meanwhile, the NWS\u200d reported that the searing <a href=\"https:\/\/origin.wpc.ncep.noaa.gov\/discussions\/hpcdiscussions.php?disc=pmdspd\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">August heat wave<\/a> is\u2063 forecast to \u200bcontinue through at\u200c least the end \u200cof this week,\u200b with\u2063 oppressive heat\u200c from \u2063the central United States to \u200bthe Gulf Coast.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;High temperatures throughout these areas are forecast to reach into the upper 90s\u200b and low 100s\u2062 through Thursday before a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/flash-flooding-possible-in-texas-new-mexico-utah-as-tropical-storm-harold-weakens-to-high-rainfall-tropical-depression\/\" title=\"Flash flooding possible in Texas, New Mexico, Utah as Tropical Storm Harold weakens to high-rainfall tropical depression.\">cold\u2062 front dropping south begins<\/a> to usher in cooler temperatures \u200dover the \u200dUpper Midwest on\u2062 Friday,&#8221; the report said. &#8220;When factoring\u200b in brutal humidity \u200blevels, maximum heat indices could \u200bapproach\u200b 120\u200c degrees.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Heat alerts\u2014which included Excessive Heat\u2063 Warnings, Watches,\u200d and Advisories\u2014have \u200dbeen issued \u2064from Minneapolis \u2063to New Orleans across \u200ban area that includes 22 states\u2062 and <\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Tropical storm Harold hit Texas on August 22, but weakened to a depression.
