Families of transgender minors and LGBT organizations are suing to block\u200b the state&#8217;s ban,\u2062 but recent polling data reveals that a majority of Missouri\u2064 voters do not support such medical care.<\/p>\n<h3>Strong Opposition\u2064 to Surgeries and Hormone Therapy<\/h3>\n<p>According to the \u200dlatest St. Louis University\/YouGov poll, 73% of probable \u2062voters in Missouri oppose \u2062transgender surgeries for minors. Additionally, \u200b63% are against hormone therapy or \u200cmedication that blocks the\u200d effects of\u200d puberty.\u2064 These responses from hundreds of Missourians clearly demonstrate their disapproval of these medical interventions.<\/p>\n<h3>Republican Support for the\u200b Ban<\/h3>\n<p>It is worth noting that\u2062 almost all \u2064Missouri \u2063Republicans\u200c are\u200b in favor of banning procedures and treatments for transgender youth. \u200dA staggering 90% of Republican voters \u200cbelieve that these options \u2063should \u200cnot\u2064 be available to minors.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Missourians indisputably favor restricting\u2064 gender\u2063 transition medical care for minors,&#8221; said Steve Rogers, the \u2064poll&#8217;s director and\u2064 a \u200bpolitical \u200dscientist at SLU. &#8220;But they do not <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/most-missourians-oppose-transgender-care-for-minors-as-court-battle-begins-over-ban-poll\/\" title=\"Poll: Majority of Missourians against transgender care for minors as court battle commences over ban.\">completely oppose gender-affirming care<\/a> \u2062for minors. Forty-four percent of voters favored, and\u2064 44% of voters opposed minors being able\u200c to receive\u2062 gender-affirming counseling.&#8221;<\/p>\n<h3>Missouri&#8217;s Ban on Transgender Medical Care<\/h3>\n<p>Missouri is one of approximately two dozen states \u200dthat have passed a ban on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/we-cant-rely-on-these-institutions-to-police-themselves-matt-walsh-affirms-why-nation-needs-laws-banning-castrating-children\/\" title=\"\u2018We Can\u2019t Rely On These Institutions To Police Themselves\u2019: Matt Walsh Affirms Why Nation Needs Laws Banning Castrating Children\">transgender medical care<\/a> for children and teenagers. The state&#8217;s\u2064 Republican-led legislature passed a bill\u2062 making it illegal\u2063 for healthcare \u200dproviders to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/psaki-refuses-to-answer-if-biden-cares-about-doctors-who-object-to-performing-controversial-procedures\/\" title=\"Psaki Refuses To Answer If Biden Cares About Doctors Who Object To Performing Controversial Procedures\">perform gender transition surgeries<\/a> and\u2063 prescribe hormone treatments for minors. \u2062Governor Mike Parson signed the \u2063ban into law in early\u2064 June.<\/p>\n<p>The law, known as the &#8220;Missouri Save Adolescents from Experimentation Act,&#8221; is scheduled to go\u200d into effect on August 28. However,\u200b the ACLU of Missouri, along with other advocacy groups \u200dand three families of transgender children, filed a \u200blawsuit against the \u200bstate to prevent the ban from taking \u200ceffect.<\/p>\n<h3>Republican Attorney \u2062General&#8217;s \u200dDefense<\/h3>\n<p>Republican Attorney \u200cGeneral Andrew Bailey\u2064 has staunchly\u200b defended the bill. Bailey is a strong advocate for barring transgender\u200b medical care for both minors and adults.
