Special Counsel Jack Smith is investigating Trump&#8217;s handling \u2063of classified records\u200c after leaving office.<\/p>\n<p>The\u200d employee, \u2063known as &#8220;Trump Employee 4,&#8221; had a change of heart after a meeting with a lawyer from the federal defender\u2019s office in Washington, D.C. He decided to no longer be represented by a lawyer paid for \u2064by \u200bTrump\u2019s political action\u2064 committee and recommended by Trump&#8217;s lawyer.<\/p>\n<p>In response to U.S. District Court Judge Aileen Cannon&#8217;s inquiry about collecting grand jury\u200b evidence in Washington,\u2064 D.C. for a case in Florida, Smith&#8217;s team revealed\u200b this revelation. Smith also informed \u200bCannon that the\u200d grand jury in Washington, \u2063D.C. has completed\u200b its work.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;During these investigations, the Government gathered evidence\u200c that Trump\u200b employee Carlos De Oliveira tried to enlist the director of information technology for Mar-a-Lago (identified in the superseding indictment as Trump Employee\u200c 4) to delete\u200d Mar-a-Lago\u2063 security footage \u200cafter the grand jury in the District of Columbia had issued \u2064a subpoena\u200d for the footage,&#8221; the court filing said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The U.S. government approached Stanley Woodward, the lawyer representing Trump Employee 4,\u2062 to inform him of a \u200cpotential conflict of interest. Woodward was representing both Trump Employee 4 and Walt Nauta, \u200ca Trump aide accused of conspiring to obstruct the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/breaking-president-trump-gives-pardons-to-73-individuals-and-commutes-another-70-sentences-steve-bannon-is-included\/\" title=\"BREAKING: President Trump Gives Pardons to 73 Individuals and Commutes Another 70 Sentences \u2013 Steve Bannon Is Included\">grand jury investigation<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Mr. Woodward responded that he\u200b did not have a reason to believe that his \u2064concurrent\u2062 representation of Trump \u2064Employee 4 and Nauta raised a conflict of interest,&#8221; the filing stated. However, evidence presented by the government indicated that the testimony of Trump Employee 4 and De Oliveira was false.<\/p>\n<p>Subsequently, prosecutors \u2064notified Trump Employee 4 that he was \u200dthe target of a\u200b <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/gaetz-set-to-introduce-bill-to-defund-jack-smith-investigation-into-trump\/\" title=\"Gaetz to propose bill cutting funds for Trump investigation by Jack Smith.\">grand jury\u2063 investigation<\/a> in Washington,\u200c D.C. for potential perjury charges.<\/p>\n<p>Smith&#8217;s team explained \u200bthat this notification created \u200ca conflict of interest for Woodward. If he advised Trump Employee 4 to correct his sworn testimony, it would\u200c incriminate Nauta. If he advised against\u2064 correcting the statement, \u200cTrump Employee 4\u2062 could face criminal prosecution. The conflict was further heightened\u2062 by the \u2062fact that Woodward was being paid by\u2062 Trump&#8217;s PAC \u2064and recommended by Trump&#8217;s \u200dlawyer.<\/p>\n<p>As\u2063 a \u2062result, Trump \u2062Employee 4 sought advice from independent counsel provided by Chief Judge Boasberg. On July 5, 2023, Trump Employee 4 decided to switch lawyers and be represented by the First Assistant Federal Defender.\u2063 With new counsel, he retracted his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/sen-paul-demands-answers-from-fauci-on-gain-of-function-funding\/\" title=\"Sen.
