Newsom lifts Calif. lockdown orders amid mounting backlash\">recent interview<\/a> on\u200c EpochTV&#8217;s California Insider, Ms. Friday shared her own experience with this issue.<\/p>\n<p>Ms. Friday recounted \u2064her\u2064 daughter&#8217;s journey with gender confusion, which began when \u200dshe was \u2064introduced \u2063to LGBT\u2062 gender ideology during a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/california-mother-recounts-journey-helping-daughter-while-school-kept-transgender-status-secret\/\" title=\"California mom shares story of supporting her daughter while school concealed her transgender identity.\">seventh-grade\u200b sex\u2062 education lesson<\/a>. &#8220;She and all of her friends picked an identity on the LGBT label. None of \u2064them picked &#8216;straight&#8217; because\u2064 that was boring,&#8221; Ms. Friday revealed.<\/p>\n<p>The COVID-19 pandemic exacerbated her daughter&#8217;s struggles, leading her to spend more \u2064time online. &#8220;She started to get indoctrinated \u200dinto\u2063 this\u200c belief system that all\u2062 your stress,\u200c all your depression, all your anxiety, will \u2063disappear if you just \u200btransition,&#8221; Ms. Friday explained.<\/p>\n<p>It wasn&#8217;t until <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/california-teachers-union-head-wants-schools-closed-just-not-his-daughters\/\" title=\"California Teachers\u2019 Union Head Wants Schools Closed, Just Not His Daughter\u2019s\">ninth grade<\/a>, during the pandemic, that Ms. Friday discovered her daughter had identified as transgender. \u2063The school had changed her name and pronouns on her email and\u200c assignments\u200c without involving the\u200b parents. &#8220;I was angry. How dare they change my daughter&#8217;s\u2064 name. How dare \u2064they not involve\u2062 me,&#8221; Ms. Friday expressed her frustration.<\/p>\n<p>Ms. Friday sought help from \u200ba therapist out of state to understand her child&#8217;s identity struggles. After a little over a year, her daughter stopped\u2064 identifying as transgender. &#8220;It was so painful to watch\u2064 my daughter die by a thousand cuts with everyone cheering her\u200b on,&#8221; Ms. Friday shared.<\/p>\n<p>This\u200c story is not unique, according to Ms. Friday. She believes it is a\u200c result of the LGBT community&#8217;s push\u200b to introduce gender ideology into schools over the past five years. Children \u200bare now \u2064being asked about their pronouns and preferred names almost\u2063 daily, which Ms. Friday believes \u200dcontributes to confusion.<\/p>\n<p>When a\u2063 child expresses a desire to go by a different name\u2064 or gender, schools instruct teachers to keep it a \u200bsecret from parents, citing California \u2063Education Department guidance. However, Ms. Friday argues that this guidance \u2062is not law. &#8220;That&#8217;s actually not true, that&#8217;s not what the law says, but that&#8217;s what teachers are doing \u2062because that&#8217;s what they&#8217;re told the law says,&#8221;\u2064 she \u2062stated.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>California schools are concealing students&#8217; transgender identity from parents, claims attorney and parent advocate Erin Friday.
