Kennedy\u2063 Jr. Criticizes President Biden&#8217;s Request for Ukraine Assistance<\/h2>\n<p>GREENVILLE, S.C.\u2013Before a large and enthusiastic town hall crowd on Monday in this \u200dupstate South\u200d Carolina city, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. criticized President Joe\u2064 Biden\u2019s recent request for another $24\u2064 billion in assistance \u2064for Ukraine.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Kennedy said the war in Ukraine is one of the root causes of America\u2019s current economic problems.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOne of the big problems we have in\u2063 our federal government\u2063 is the addiction\u2064 to war,\u201d Mr. Kennedy said. \u201cPresident Biden went to Congress\u200c and asked for \u2062another $24 billion for the Ukraine War.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cWe<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/rfk-jr-accuses-us-government-of-addiction-to-war-in-south-carolina-town-hall\/\" title=\"RFK Jr. claims US government has a 'war addiction' in SC town hall.\">\u2019ve spent \u2062 trillion\u200c dollars<\/a> on wars since 9\/11. If we kept that\u200b money home, we would\u2019ve had childcare for every American. That represents\u2063 around $900 per U.S. household. according to a new analysis from the foundation.<\/p>\n<p>Since announcing his \u200ccandidacy in April to challenge President Biden, \u200dMr. Kennedy\u200b has \u200ccalled for peace\u2064 negotiations to end the \u200dwar\u200d in\u2064 Ukraine and has repeatedly chastised \u2063the\u2064 Biden\u200d administration for continuing to fund Ukraine.<\/p>\n<p>As part of his reasoning for ending the Ukraine war, Mr. Kennedy referenced\u2062 his uncle,\u200b President John F. Kennedy.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;My uncle\u2063 Jack said\u200c that the primary \u200djob of an American President of \u2064the United States is to\u2062 keep the country out of war. He kept out of Vietnam. He sent \u2064only 16,000 \u2062military advisers there\u2014mainly Green Berets,\u201d Mr. Kennedy noted. \u201cIn October 1963, he learned\u2062 that one of his Green Berets had died, and he\u2062 asked his aide to give him a combat\u2064 casualty list, and the aide \u2062came back and\u2063 said 75 had died so far.\u2063 He \u2062said: &#8216;That&#8217;s too many.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<h2>A Peaceful Conclusion<\/h2>\n<p>Mr.\u200c Kennedy has \u200bfrequently reiterated his stance that talks should take place with Russia to seek a peaceful conclusion in the Ukraine war.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We have made no effort to talk to the\u2062 Russian leadership for many, many months\u2014almost \u2063a\u200d year. And there have been many efforts by the Russian leadership to engage Ukraine in peace negotiations. \u200bAnd we \u200bhave rebuffed these,\u201d Mr. Kennedy explained.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We need to be talking directly with Vladimir Putin\u2062 and all \u200bsides, and we need\u200c to settle \u200cthe\u200d insanity before we\u200c initiate another nuclear exchange that would destroy all of humanity.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The White House did not respond to a request for comment from\u2064 The Epoch Times about Mr. Kennedy&#8217;s criticism, but National Security Council Coordinator for Strategic \u200bCommunications\u2064 John Kirby earlier\u200d this month told the Associated Press, \u201cFor people who\u200d might\u2062 be concerned the\u200b costs are\u2063 getting \u2062too high, we\u2019d ask \u2064them what the costs\u2014not just in \u200ctreasure but in blood, perhaps even American blood\u2014could be \u2063if Putin subjugates \u200dUkraine.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>While Mr. Kennedy tours South Carolina, President Biden\u2019s reelection campaign recently announced it is launching a $25 million series of ads targeting seven battleground \u200cstates ahead of the 2024 Democratic\u200c primaries.<\/p>\n<p>Ads will air in Arizona, Michigan, Georgia,\u200b Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin. Spots will also target Hispanics in Florida, according to the campaign.<\/p>\n<p>South \u2063Carolina is scheduled to lead \u2062off \u200cthe 2024 Democratic presidential primary season in February. Mr. Kennedy \u2063is traveling around the state for what will be the first of many visits\u200b as he challenges President Biden for \u200bthe party\u2019s nomination.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this year, encouraged by President Biden,\u200b the Democratic \u2063National Committee (DNC) voted to strip\u2062 the Iowa caucus of its traditional lead-off \u2062spot in the party&#8217;s presidential\u2063 nominating process\u00a0and replace it with South Carolina. Under\u2063 the new format,\u200b South Carolina will be the first Democratic primary, on \u200cFeb. 3.\u200d New Hampshire has long been\u2063 the country\u2019s, and the GOP&#8217;s, first primary after\u200c the Iowa\u200d caucuses. \u2062Under the new \u200bcalendar, which\u200b differs from the Republicans&#8217; primary calendar,\u2062 it would vote with\u2062 Nevada \u200bon Feb. 6.<\/p>\n<p>At each \u200bof \u2064his town\u200b halls in South Carolina, Mr. Kennedy\u2064 focused his message on\u2063 improving the \u2063economy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe two \u2063major\u2062 candidates are running on \u200bthe idea that they brought prosperity to our country,\u201d Mr. Kennedy said. \u201cAs I travel around \u200bSouth Carolina and other states, I\u2019m not seeing many Americans enjoying \u200cthat kind of prosperity. I\u2019m seeing people sitting at their kitchen tables and wondering how\u200b they are going to pay\u2062 the bills.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe average income \u200din this \u200bcountry is now $5,000 less\u200d than the average\u200d cost\u2062 of living for basic human \u2062needs\u2014food, transportation, and housing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Biden won \u200bSouth Carolina in the \u200d2020 \u200dDemocratic primary. But John Fisher, \u200da registered independent, believes that\u200b Mr. Kennedy \u200dhas a path to victory in\u200c the state in 2024.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s \u200cno \u2063candidate that articulates an issue better. He answers questions \u200bthoroughly and with facts and\u2064 research. He doesn\u2019t answer with a prepared response to fit a political\u200c agenda,\u201d Mr. Fisher told The Epoch Times after the \u200btown \u2063hall in Florence.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe is the\u2064 only candidate right now working to build a bridge\u2063 between the left and the right. There \u200bis no other candidate on either side who does that,\u201d Mr. Fisher added. \u201cPeople here want\u200b to hear about solutions. And how\u200b they \u2062will get\u2064 done. \u200cHe (Kennedy) does that, \u2062and he is giving people hope with his message \u2062of \u200chealing the divide.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>India Byrd is a 29-year-old college graduate who owns and operates a \u200dcommercial and residential \u200dcleaning business in the Florence area. She was \u200da <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/rnc-election-integrity-chief-gop-to-curb-fraud-in-2022-midterms\/\" title=\"RNC Election Integrity Chief: GOP to curb fraud in 2022 midterms\">regional field director<\/a> for\u200b President\u2064 Trump\u2019s campaign \u200din 2020 and is now volunteering for Mr. Kennedy\u2019s campaign in South Carolina.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe is the\u200b best candidate we&#8217;ve seen \u2064in a long time because\u200b of his knowledge and \u200chis \u2062common\u200b sense approach,\u201d Ms. \u2064Byrd said\u200d as she handed out Kennedy yard signs outside the Florence town \u2063hall. \u201cAt a time when many people are struggling \u2062financially, he is resonating with the middle class and how decisions in Washington are affecting us here.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI see a lot of Trump supporters at these events who are interested in Kennedy,\u201d \u200dMs. Byrd added. \u201c<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Robert F.
