These double strikes are not ongoing because of our inability to be realistic, as Bob Iger says. It is Bob Iger and the other CEOs\u2062 who refuse \u200dto see \u2064the\u200d world as it is &#8230; We are not ready to give up.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Actors and writers have been picketing in \u200bLos Angeles \u200band across \u200bthe country for months. The WGA strike began 111 \u2063days before the\u2063 rally \u2064on May 2,\u200b while the actors went on strike on July 14.<\/p>\n<p>Steve Moulton, an\u2062 actor\u2063 who joined the picket line for the first \u2062time, expressed his optimism\u200b about the turnout.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;I think \u2062we are definitely getting our message out,&#8221; said Mr. Moulton. &#8220;We have to show the people at the very top that they \u2064can&#8217;t just hoard all\u200c the wealth. People need to be paid fairly and compensated for the \u200bwork that they&#8217;ve done that continues to bring in\u200d money.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>One of the concerns\u200d in the contract negotiations\u200d is the \u2064use of \u200dartificial intelligence \u2063(AI) in \u2062television and\u2063 movies. Writers and actors are seeking \u200cprotection\u2064 from the potential \u200dimpact\u2062 of this emerging \u200ctechnology.<\/p>\n<p>Jackie Gonneau, a voiceover actor, emphasized the importance of fighting\u2064 for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/young-americans-must-lead-the-way-in-opposing-additional-covid-shutdowns\/\" title=\"Young Americans Must Lead The Way In Opposing Additional COVID Shutdowns\">younger generation<\/a> to have a viable career \u200din the industry.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;I feel \u200dso sorry for these\u2062 kids, my daughter one\u200d of them, because you can&#8217;t\u2062 make the \u200bsame living that we used to,&#8221; said\u2064 Ms. Gonneau. \u200d&#8221;People \u200cstarting out\u2062 now\u200c don&#8217;t have a\u2064 shot in hell to\u200d make even just a normal,\u2063 middle-class living like I did. We\u2062 really \u200bneed to fight for\u200b the younger generation.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>While the\u200d WGA has resumed talks \u2062with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers, the SAG-AFTRA union has yet to restart negotiations. The AMPTP represents over 350 American television and film producers.<\/p>\n<p>A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/only-22-of-cable-news-is-news-study\/\" title=\"Only 22% of Cable \u2018News\u2019 is News: Study\">recent poll conducted<\/a> by Data for Progress\u2064 showed that more \u2063than \u200dtwo-thirds of likely voters nationwide\u2064 support the strikes,\u2062 with only \u200b18 percent opposed.
