(Photo by\u2062 Moriah Ratner\/Getty\u200c Images)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2>OAN\u2019s <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.oann.com\/tag\/abril-elfi\" target=\"_blank\">Abril Elfi<\/a><\/h2>\n<h3>5:54 PM \u2013 Tuesday, August 22, 2023<\/h3>\n<p>A \u2063<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/we-either-have-laws-or-we-dont-have-laws-california-violated-its-election-laws-as-well-results-are-likely-invalid\/\" title=\"We Either Have Laws or We Don\u2019t Have Laws: California Violated Its Election Laws As Well \u2013 Results Are Likely Invalid\">judge recently ruled<\/a> that the three individuals who were\u2064 accused of assaulting conservative journalist Andy\u200d Ngo now\u200c owe him $300,000 in damages. <\/p>\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1663871513696-art-1\" style=\"min-width: 320px; min-height: 50px;  text-align: center;\">  \t<script>  \t\tgoogletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('div-gpt-ad-1663871513696-art-1'); });  \t<\/script>  <\/div>\n<div class=\"ad-slot__ad-label\">Advertisement<\/div>\n<\/p>\n<p>On Monday, Multnomah County Circuit Judge\u2064 Chanpone Sinlapasai\u2064 ruled that the three no-show defendants, \u200cKatherine Belyea, Madison Allen, and Joseph \u2062Evans, must split the damages equally and pay Ngo $300,000. <\/p>\n<p>Evans now goes by the legal\u200c name Sammich Overkill Schott-Deputy.<\/p>\n<p>According to the lawsuit, Schott-Deputy was \u201cone of \u2064the first to\u2063 strike\u201d Ngo while live-streaming a protest in downtown Portland on May 29<sup>th<\/sup>, 2019. Allen reportedly smashed\u2063 Ngo\u2019s head with a sign and Belyea dumped a milkshake on him. <\/p>\n<p>The lawsuit also states that the journalist was able to \u201cbreak away\u201d during the encounter and \u2063later walked to the central police station as ordered \u200bby a medic team\u200b affiliated \u2063with the Portland Police.\u200d <\/p>\n<p>Ngo was then subsequently\u200c transported by EMS to Oregon Health \u200b&#038; Science University, where he was \u201cdiagnosed with \u2064a\u2063 subarachnoid brain hemorrhage\u200b and hospitalized overnight.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>During his testimony, Ngo told the court that the \u201cnear-death experience\u201d he had during the attack in 2019 has been the subject of a continuous joke by \u2062\u201cviolent extremists,\u201d which he said was both \u201cdistressing\u201d and\u2064 \u201cscary,\u201d the\u2063 press reported. <\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cThose\u200b who wish harm on me, they always refer to it as the \u200d\u2018milkshake incident\u2019\u2063 to mock my \u2063injuries \u2062and celebrate it,\u201d Ngo said. \u201cThe near-death experience, for\u2062 it to continually be a joke to violent extremists, it\u2019s distressing \u200cand it\u2019s scary.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Schott-Deputy\u2019s attorney had argued that his client did not attend the trial since\u2063 he was homeless and serving prison sentences in\u2064 both \u200cNew \u2063York and Oregon at the time he had been\u200c served.\u00a0However, Sinlapasai argued that he was \u2064fully aware of the lawsuit against \u200dhim.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/andy-ngo-wins-300000-in-lawsuit-over-protest-beating-case\/\" title=\"Andy Ngo awarded 0K in lawsuit for protest assault.\">conservative journalist posted<\/a> on X, the social platform formerly known as\u200b Twitter, following his court win. <\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cCollecting on these\u2062 judgments will pose serious\u200d challenges; however, \u200dI\u2019m deeply grateful for the support of the @liberty_ctr and my counsel Dorothy Yamamoto, Gregory \u200bMichael, Harmeet Dhillon, James Buchal and @mark_trammell for believing \u2062in \u2064me, and helping me hold these \u2063attackers accountable for trying to\u2064 violently silence my First Amendment rights,\u201d\u00a0Mr. Ngo wrote.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote data-service=\"twitter\" data-category=\"marketing\" data-placeholder-image=\"https:\/\/c3.oann.com\/wp-content\/plugins\/complianz-gdpr\/assets\/images\/placeholders\/twitter-minimal.jpg\" class=\"cmplz-placeholder-element twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">BREAKING: At a hearing today regarding three defaulted Antifa defendants in my Ngo v. \u200bRose \u2064City \u2062Antifa, et al. lawsuit, the \u2062court heard evidence \u200babout the brutal June 29, 2019 beating I\u200d suffered at a Rose City Antifa event where I\u200c was seriously injured.
