Lee Statue Removed From US Capitol (VIDEO)\">young woman<\/a> at Penn Park in Whittier over the weekend, police announced on Aug. 22.<\/p>\n<p>Gabriel Esparza, 20, of Whittier was arrested on Aug. 21 afternoon at his \u200bworkplace in Lakewood, the Whittier\u2064 Police Department \u200creported.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Esparza was booked on suspicion of murder and\u200b kidnapping in the death of Andrea Vazquez, 19, police said. He\u200d was being held without bail, according to police, who said a weapon believed to be used in the crime has been \u2063recovered. On Tuesday afternoon, police announced\u2063 the arrest.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Throughout the \u2063investigation,\u2063 an ongoing search for Andrea Ms. Vazquez took place in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/kidnapped-19-year-old-woman-found-dead-in-moreno-valley-suspect-arrested\/\" title=\"Suspect arrested after 19-year-old woman found dead in Moreno Valley.\">large open land areas<\/a> of Moreno Valley,&#8221; police said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;At 11:50 p.m. on August\u200b 21, 2023, detectives located the body of Andrea Vazquez\u200b in a vegetation field \u200coff Alessandro Boulevard and Merwin Street in Moreno Valley,&#8221; police continued. &#8220;At this\u2062 time, it appears that Andrea Vazquez and her <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/fact-check-was-mike-pence-shot-while-fleeing-military-arrest\/\" title=\"FACT CHECK: Was Mike Pence \u2018Shot While Fleeing Military Arrest\u2019?\">male companion<\/a> were randomly targeted by the suspect at Penn Park.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Agencies also involved in the investigation included the Riverside County Sheriff&#8217;s Department, Los Angeles County Sheriff&#8217;s Department, Downey \u2064Police Department, and the La \u200cHabra \u2063Police Department.<\/p>\n<p>The\u2062 case will\u2063 be presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney&#8217;s office on Aug. 23 for the possible\u200b filing of charges.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Detectives\u2064 are not\u2062 disclosing any additional details at this time because the \u2062investigation is ongoing,&#8221; \u2062police said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Gabriel Esparza, 20, of Whittier, was arrested for the kidnapping and fatal shooting of a young woman at Penn Park.
