Currently, the \u2063majority of rocket fuel consists of a combination of \u2062kerosene and\u200c oxygen,\u2064 known as kerolox, or \u200chydrogen and oxygen,\u200c known as hydrolox. While these fuels have \u200dproven effective, \u200bthey are notorious for\u200d their significant carbon\u200d emissions, which \u2063has prompted increased global\u2063 scrutiny on emission reduction efforts.<\/p>\n<p>Recognizing the urgency to \u200daddress this issue, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/failure-is-an-option\/\" title=\"Failure Is an Option\">space companies<\/a> have shifted \u200ctheir focus towards developing new fuels that can propel massive\u2062 rockets into space while significantly reducing their environmental impact.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<h3>China \u200dTakes the \u200cLead<\/h3>\n<p>China\u2064 has emerged as a frontrunner in \u2063this\u200d endeavor, with\u200c its Landspace&#8217;s Zhuque-2 rocket making history in July as the first\u2063 rocket to successfully reach space using\u200b methane fuel, as reported by Space \u200bNews. Methane, being a cleaner alternative to traditional rocket fuels, has inspired other companies to follow China&#8217;s lead.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>According to Axios, prominent companies \u2062such as SpaceX&#8217;s Starship rocket, RocketLab&#8217;s Neutron, Blue Origin&#8217;s New Glenn, and ULA&#8217;s Vulcan Centaur have\u200c also adopted \u2062methane fuel. However, none of\u2064 these rockets have \u2064<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/space-companies-eyeing-change-in-fuel-to-reduce-emissions\/\" title=\"Space firms considering fuel switch to cut emissions.\">achieved \u200bsuccessful space \u200dmissions<\/a> yet. Notably, Starship, the largest rocket ever launched, infamously exploded a few minutes after liftoff.<\/p>\n<p>Aside from its environmental benefits,\u2063 methane offers advantages in terms of efficiency\u2064 and storage.
