min-height: 50px;  text-align: center;\">  \t<script>  \t\tgoogletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('div-gpt-ad-1663871513696-art-1'); });  \t<\/script>  <\/div>\n<div class=\"ad-slot__ad-label\">Advertisement<\/div>\n<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cEd Siskel\u2019s\u2064 many years of experience in public service\u2062 and a career defending the rule of \u200blaw make him the \u200dperfect choice to serve as my next White House Counsel,\u201d \u2062Biden \u2062said in\u2064 a statement on Tuesday. \u201cFor \u2063nearly four years in the White House \u2064when I was Vice President, he helped the \u200cCounsel\u2019s Office navigate complex challenges and advance the President\u2019s agenda on behalf of the \u200cAmerican people, and first as a federal prosecutor and\u200b then as the top counsel for one \u200dof America\u2019s biggest and most vibrant cities,\u2062 his hometown of Chicago, Ed \u2063has shown a deep commitment to public\u2062 service and respect for the law,\u201d\u2063 he continued.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/briefing-room\/statements-releases\/2023\/08\/22\/president-joe-biden-names-ed-siskel-new-white-house-counsel\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/briefing-room\/statements-releases\/2023\/08\/22\/president-joe-biden-names-ed-siskel-new-white-house-counsel\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Siskel\u2019s new role<\/a> comes as the president faces a special counsel investigation into his purported mishandling of classified \u2063documents, a special counsel investigation into his son\u2062 Hunter Biden, and other additional investigations into \u200dhim, his son, and the origins of COVID-19 by House Republicans.<\/p>\n<p>Many GOP officials also called for Biden\u2019s impeachment.<\/p>\n<p>The\u2063 White House said on \u2063Tuesday that Biden has chosen Siskel, who rose to the position of deputy counsel during his almost four years in the White House Counsel\u2019s Office, to succeed current counsel Stuart Delery, who will retire in September. <\/p>\n<p>The change in Biden\u2019s \u200btop legal counsel comes as Republican-led investigations against the president and the \u200dBiden family continue to heat up.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cHis experience will let him hit\u2063 the \u200cground running as a key leader on my team as we\u2064 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/delta-allows-passengers-banned-over-mask-violations-to-return-to-flights\/\" title=\"Delta Allows Passengers Banned Over Mask Violations To Return To Flights\">continue making progress<\/a> for\u2064 the American people every day,\u201d Biden maintained.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>In the past, Siskel assisted the Obama administration in navigating congressional investigations and\u200b \u201cother \u200dpolitical land \u200cmines,\u201d such as the solar\u2064 panel business \u200cSolyndra, which received government\u2064 assistance, as well as the terrorist assaults on the \u200dU.S. Consulate complex in Benghazi, Libya, which killed four Americans,\u200b according \u2064to the Chicago\u2063 Sun-Times.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, Siskel previously managed the \u200dimplementation \u200dand subsequent legal\u2062 challenges to the Affordable Care Act, popularly known as \u201cObamaCare.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He\u2064 will reportedly \u201clead a team serving the President with counsel on legal matters facing \u200bthe White House and the country,\u201d as well as assist in the development\u200b of \u200dpolicies and \u2062administrative actions to achieve Biden\u2019s agenda, according to the White House.<\/p>\n<p>In November 2020, Siskel joined Biden\u2019s transition\u2062 team before \u2062becoming deputy counsel. <\/p>\n<p>After Biden\u2019s first counsel, Dana\u200c Remus, left the White House, he was\u2062 then\u200b appointed to the top role in 2022.<\/p>\n<p>Delery was responsible for overseeing the legal foundation \u2063of the Inflation Reduction Act, the president\u2019s centerpiece environmental legislation, as well as assisting \u2064Biden in crafting his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/biden-appoints-ed-siskel-former-wh-counsel-who-shielded-obama-in-benghazi-probe\/\" title=\"Biden appoints Ed Siskel, ex-WH Counsel who protected Obama during Benghazi investigation.\">failed student loan giveaway \u2063executive order<\/a> last year, which was ultimately overturned by the Supreme Court.<\/p>\n<p>Stay\u2064 informed!
