The Foundation believes that \u2062many in the Washington, D.C., Beltway are not on\u200b the same page\u2062 as average people and average conservatives, who are expected to tune into the debate\u2064 to see what candidates \u200chave to say\u200d on the issue.<\/p>\n<h2>Republican Debate: Can the Debates Help Winnow the GOP Field?<\/h2>\n<p>The new ad begins, &#8220;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Congress is considering a proposal\u200b to send even more of\u200c your\u2064 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/hate-being-spewed-in-the-name-of-patriotism-wapo-opinion-attacks-anthem-before-games-2\/\" title=\"\u2018Hate Being Spewed In The Name Of Patriotism\u2019: WaPo Opinion Attacks Anthem Before Games\">hard-earned money<\/a> to Ukraine.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>It then links the issue to the recent \u200cwildfire \u2064in Hawaii. &#8220;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>And here&#8217;s the worst part,&#8221; it continues. &#8220;They&#8217;re\u200b <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/conservative-group-to-debut-ad-opposing-ukraine-aid-during-rnc-debate-preshow\/\" title=\"Conservative group to unveil anti-Ukraine aid ad at RNC debate pre-show.\">holding hostage disaster\u200d relief money<\/a> for \u200bAmericans until they get their way. That&#8217;s just plain wrong.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Your family&#8217;s contribution already totals roughly $900 for Ukraine. Until \u200bJoe Biden \u200boffers\u200d a plan to \u200cend the war, Congress shouldn&#8217;t approve another cent,&#8221; it concludes.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>After\u200b the \u2063ad debuts during the Ruthless podcast&#8217;s live preshow at 4:30 p.m. in Milwaukee with guests Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI), RNC \u2063Chairwoman Ronna\u2063 McDaniel, and conservative commentator Guy Benson, it will also be included in the audio version of the podcast on Thursday.\u200c The podcast\u200d boasts a reported 3\u200d million unique listeners.<\/p>\n<p>Heritage is additionally\u200b launching a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/jane-fonda-launches-climate-pac-we-have-8-years-before-the-point-of-no-return\/\" title=\"Jane Fonda Launches Climate PAC: 'We Have 8 Years Before the Point of No Return'\">paid media campaign<\/a> \u2064in order to promote the video across\u2062 YouTube, Rumble, and\u200c its various social media.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement to the Washington Examiner, Heritage Foundation President Dr. Kevin Roberts said, \u201cThe majority of \u200dAmericans oppose sending more U.S. aid to Ukraine. And \u2064yet the Biden administration is asking Congress to approve another\u2062 $24 billion. To make matters \u2063worse, they\u2019re holding\u2062 hostage emergency funding for hurricanes \u2063and fires here \u200dat \u200chome. It\u2019s typical of the D.C. swamp to play games with the American people\u2019s money. We\u2062 won\u2019t stand\u200b for\u2064 it. The Heritage Foundation is adamantly opposed to this proposal.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2>The \u2064Ukraine\u200c War and Candidates&#8217; Disagreements<\/h2>\n<p>The Ukraine war is expected to \u200ccome \u2064up during the debate, especially because it is one \u200bof the few issues that candidates seem to have real disagreements \u200cover.<\/p>\n<p>Former \u2063U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley\u200b has been vocal about her support\u2062 for continued military \u2062aid to Ukraine as they fend off Russia&#8217;s invasion. But she does not support cash payments or American troops in the country. Former Vice\u200b President Mike\u2063 Pence, who\u200c was\u2062 the first candidate to travel to Ukraine during the campaign, has\u200d maintained similar support for \u2062<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/rep-stefanik-garlands-comment-on-cuomo-corruption-not-good-enough\/\" title=\"Rep. Stefanik: Garland\u2019s comment on Cuomo corruption \u2018not good enough\u2019\">military aid<\/a> to the country. Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie reiterated\u200c his own support\u2064 for\u200c continued U.S. backing\u200c of Ukraine with a trip to the war-torn country earlier this month. \u201cYou look at this, and I don\u2019t think there\u2019s anyone in our country who would come here and \u2062see this and not feel\u2062 as if these are the things that \u2062America \u200bneeds to stand up to prevent,&#8221; he said during the trip.<\/p>\n<p>Sen. \u2063Tim Scott (R-SC), a current \u2063senator, has been supportive of military \u200baid to Ukraine,\u200c voting \u200din favor of emergency defense funding to assist the country in 2022. He has criticized\u2064 President Joe Biden on\u2063 the subject, claiming\u200d he has\u200b \u201cdone a terrible job explaining and articulating to the American people\u201d why\u2062 assisting Ukraine\u2064 is\u2063 critical.<\/p>\n<p>On Tuesday during a radio interview, Scott emphasized, &#8220;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The most important \u200cthing to do to \u2062protect American \u2064soldiers and our sovereign territory is to make sure that\u200c our\u2062 adversaries are\u200b degraded without the use of our military.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Vivek Ramaswamy has signaled that he wouldn&#8217;t support continued aid, stating that he&#8217;s more \u200bworried about an alliance between Russia and \u2063China. \u200c\u201cI think that by fighting further in Russia, by further arming Ukraine, we are driving Russia into China\u2019s hands,&#8221; he previously\u2063 said.<\/p>\n<p>In a\u200b recent interview with CNN, Ramaswamy further claimed that as president, \u201cI would \u2062freeze the current lines of control, and that would leave parts of the Donbas region with \u200bRussia.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I\u2062 would \u2064also further make\u200d a\u2063 commitment that NATO \u200bwill\u2063 not admit Ukraine \u200bto NATO,&#8221; he \u200dadded.<\/p>\n<p>Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) hasn&#8217;t explicitly said \u2062whether he supports continued military aid \u200dto \u200dthe country, but he\u200c indicated it would be at a \u2062smaller scale and in tandem with European\u2062 countries. In a recent interview with\u2063 Fox News&#8217;s Bret Baier, the Florida \u200dgovernor stated his plan to support Ukraine. According to \u200bhim, &#8220;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The\u200b Europeans need \u200dto do their fair \u200dshare. They\u2019re allies. Their economy is 10 times the \u200bsize of Russia. And so I think they need to step\u200c up.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>DeSantis added, &#8220;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>I think the fact that we have drawn down our \u200dammunition to crisis levels,\u200c some of our weapons stocks \u2014 we have other\u200c contingencies we have to \u2062be worried about.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>So as president, I would prioritize the \u2063China threat first,&#8221; he claimed. &#8220;I would have more resources and power in the Indo-Pacific. I would also deal\u2063 with issues in our own \u2062hemisphere, starting with our border and some \u200cof the threats\u2063 there. And\u2062 then I&#8217;m\u2063 willing to\u200d work with\u2063 the Europeans. But I think\u200d the goal needs to \u200dbe, you know, let&#8217;s bring it to a sustainable conclusion.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>All of the \u200baforementioned \u2062candidates are attending\u200b the RNC debate on\u200c Wednesday, but\u2062 the race&#8217;s front-runner, former President Donald Trump, has said \u2063he is not.<\/p>\n<p>Trump has\u2063 encouraged an end to the war on several occasions. He has further claimed that he would end the war within 24 hours of being in\u200c the White House again. He hasn&#8217;t\u200c directly answered questions about support for military aid to Ukraine, but he did claim during a CNN town hall event, &#8220;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>We\u2019re giving away so\u2062 much equipment. We don\u2019t have \u200bammunition for ourselves right now. We don\u2019t have ammunition \u200cfor ourselves. We\u2019re giving away \u2063so \u200dmuch.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The former president did indicate that he would threaten to\u200d give more\u200c assistance to Ukraine\u200d in the context \u200dof negotiating with Russian President \u200bVladimir Putin\u2063 during an interview with Fox News&#8217;s Maria Bartiromo. &#8220;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>I would tell Putin,\u200d if you don&#8217;t make a deal, we&#8217;re going to \u200cgive him a lot. We&#8217;re going to [give Ukraine] more than\u200b they ever got if we have\u200b to. I will have the deal done in one day.
