Other than the most obvious one, of course.<\/p>\n<p>While\u2062 Garland contends he\u2019s \u201cconfident\u201d the Delaware federal prosecutor \u201cwill carry out\u2063 his\u200b responsibility in an evenhanded and\u2064 urgent \u200dmanner and in\u2063 accordance with the highest traditions of this department,\u201d\u200d evidence strongly suggests something corrupt. For one thing,\u2063 no one genuinely seeking an \u201cevenhanded\u201d inquiry \u2064would hand the job\u200d to a prosecutor who\u2019s \u2064already attempted to \u200bshower the target of the investigation with an\u2063 extraordinarily favorable immunity deal. It defies credulity.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>And not only was Weiss ready to bequeath Hunter with a hall \u2064pass on the felony\u200c gun and\u200d tax charges but also blanket immunity\u2063 on a slew of serious \u2062potential offenses, including failure to\u200d register as a foreign agent, \u200cevasion, bribery, and\u2064 corruption\u2062 \u2014 and any other entanglements of\u200d the Biden family. That fact \u2062alone should be disqualifying.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>On more than one occasion \u200cduring the plea agreement hearing, the incredulous\u2063 judge, Maryellen Noreika, \u2062asked the government if they could provide a single precedent in which immunity was offered for \u201ccrimes in a different case.\u201d They \u200dcould not.\u2063 One imagines that \u2062the prosecutor who signed off\u2063 an unprecedented sweetheart \u200cdeal rejected out of\u2064 hand by a court isn\u2019t in an ideal position to lead a case, much\u2064 less uphold\u200d the \u201cthe highest traditions\u201d of justice.<\/p>\n<p>Hunter\u2019s immunity deal, one\u200b DOJ lawyer explained\u2064 at the time, was \u201ccrafted to suit the\u200d facts and circumstances.\u201d Indeed, those circumstances\u2064 are \u201cJoe\u201d and \u201cBiden.\u201d \u2064Any investigation leads to the \u2064president answering awkward queries about his role in influence peddling to disreputable players \u200cin\u2062 corrupt regimes.\u200c There is no Hunter Biden case without Joe.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Now we\u2064 learn that the\u2063 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/ghislaine-maxwell-now-accusing-prison-guard-of-abuse\/\" title=\"Ghislaine Maxwell Now Accusing Prison Guard Of Abuse\">sweetheart plea deal<\/a> was actually Weiss getting <em>tough<\/em> on\u200c Hunter.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>In emails obtained\u2062 by The New \u2064York Times between the (alleged) prosecutors\u200b and the Hunter camp, we learn that Weiss\u2062 was \u201d willing to forgo any prosecution of Mr. Biden \u2062at all, and his office\u200b came close to \u2064agreeing to end the investigation without requiring a guilty plea on any charges.\u201d \u2062It was only the congressional testimony\u2064 of Gary Shapley\u200b and \u200bJoseph Ziegler that\u200b changed his\u200c mind.\u2063 Only\u2062 then did Weiss demand\u2064 Hunter plead guilty to two\u200d piddling misdemeanor counts. Now, whether Weiss changed course to mitigate \u200cthe damage to the Bidens or\u2064 himself, or both, it speaks \u200bto a decision-making \u2062process \u2064tainted \u2064by \u200dpolitical considerations. Even in \u2062the best light, that should be disqualifying.<\/p>\n<p>Then\u200b again, what kind \u2063of\u200c \u201cevenhanded\u201d investigation\u200c is led by a prosecutor who\u2019s\u2063 been credibly accused of dragging\u2064 his feet on a case and \u200bthen lying to\u2063 Congress? Is there no one else in the entire United \u2064States better positioned to investigate Hunter?<\/p>\n<p>Clearly, not from Garland\u2019s perspective. In the past, the \u200dAttorney General \u2064claimed that Weiss \u2064was free \u200dto\u2064 prosecute Hunter in \u201cany way he wanted to\u201d \u2063and anywhere in the country. Weiss also\u2062 told Congress that he had \u201cnever \u2063been denied the authority to bring charges \u200din any jurisdiction.\u201d If he chose to, he could \u2063have finished \u2062the job long ago. \u2062It\u2019s been five years. The \u201cspecial counsel\u201d designation is meant \u2062to give \u2063him a\u2063 veneer of independence.<\/p>\n<p>Democrats like \u200dto point\u2063 out that Weiss is a Donald\u200b Trump appointee and\u2063 thus unlikely to\u2064 participate in the Joe Biden protection racket. (A rather stark projection on how they view political power.) First off, so what? That fact doesn\u2019t make him any more competent or any less susceptible to engage in actions that please those in power. Second, there is no way \u2062Weiss, who\u2019s been around a\u200b long time, gets through any confirmation process without \u200csupport from the Delaware power brokers \u2014 who \u200bare Democrats. Biden Democrats.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>We don\u2019t need to bore into his soul, however. We only need \u200dto look at his\u2064 actions and his history. Now, the fact that Weiss worked closely with the late\u2064 Beau Biden doesn\u2019t\u2064 mean he\u2019s unethical, but it \u2064does mean he\u2019s ill-suited to lead an independent inquiry into\u200b the Biden family. The fact that, according to the \u2062Washington Examiner, seven\u200c prosecutors working under Weiss during \u200dthe Hunter Biden investigation were Democratic donors doesn\u2019t\u200c make them corrupt. It makes \u2063Weiss\u2064 a terrible choice\u2062 to investigate the\u2062 president\u2019s family.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>It\u2019s worth\u200c remembering that the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/biden-special-counsel-hasnt-even-started-yet\/\" title=\"Biden Special Counsel Hasn\u2019t Even Started Yet\">special counsel exists<\/a>\u200b to allow government the ability to avoid conflicts of interest that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/hunter-biden-special-counsel-appointment-is-a-blatant-act-of-corruption\/\" title=\"Hunter Biden's special counsel appointment reeks of corruption.\">occasionally hamper \u200cfederal investigations<\/a>. Weiss, though,\u200c is a walking \u200bconflict of interest.\u200b And the only plausible \u2063reason Garland gave him\u200c the\u200d job is so he would continue protecting the president.<\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\">\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>There&#8217;s no logical or lawful reason for Attorney General Merrick Garland appointing David Weiss as a special counsel in the Hunter Biden probe, except for the obvious one.
