By having the\u200c trial set in early\u200b 2024, the\u200c agency can try \u200bto kneecap Trump right\u2062 before the Iowa caucuses\u200d and ultimately the 2024 general\u200c election, should he be the Republican \u2064presidential nominee. Meanwhile,\u2064 the DOJ \u200balso plans to drag \u2063Trump <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/trump-classified-documents-case-trial-6589276753f4255246766e4e5f956881\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">into court<\/a> \u2063 over a separate \u2064set of charges, related to his handling of\u200d classified\u2064 documents,\u2064 in a trial that\u2019s \u2064been scheduled \u200cfor May of 2024.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2-long d-flex justify-content-center\" style=\"margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center; \" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-286003334\">\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1379703300879-0\" class=\"mb-30\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-897451d05edd6015fda2cb9d8de6257c fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-897451d05edd6015fda2cb9d8de6257c\"><\/div>\n<p>As nefarious as it is,\u200b the DOJ\u2019s targeting \u200dof\u200b the former president is hardly\u2062 the only \u2064way the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/thought-indicting-trump-was-the-only-way-the-doj-interferes-in-elections-think-again\/\" title=\"Surprised by DOJ's Election Interference? Think Again.\">corrupt federal law enforcement apparatus seeks<\/a> to benefit Democrats ahead of the 2024 contest. Over the past several years,\u200c the DOJ has\u2063 made\u200c a habit of filing\u200d and joining leftist-backed \u200clawsuits against Republican states\u2019 election integrity laws.<\/p>\n<p>The\u2064 strategy is reminiscent of the left\u2019s legal bombardment against \u2064election\u2063 integrity\u200b laws leading up to\u200c the 2020 election, in which Democrat-backed legal groups \u2063filed \u200da <a href=\"https:\/\/www.americanbar.org\/groups\/public_interest\/election_law\/litigation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">bevy<\/a> of <a href=\"https:\/\/electionlawblog.org\/?p=127427\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">lawsuits<\/a> aimed at altering state election laws in their\u200d favor. Whether it was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/ga-secretary-of-state-says-democrats-are-criticizing-voting-law-in-order-to-take-over-federal-elections\/\" title=\"GA Secretary Of State Says Democrats Are Criticizing Voting Law In Order To Take Over Federal Elections\">ballot signature verification<\/a> or voter\u200d ID \u2063requirements, \u200cno\u2064 commonsense provisions were safe \u2062from Democrats\u2019 legal assault.<\/p>\n<p>Now, with Joe Biden in the \u2063White House, \u2063the DOJ has\u200c been able to further Democrats\u2019 election interference by piling on the\u2062 legal jihad against Republican-backed election laws at\u200c the\u200d expense \u200dof\u200d the U.S. taxpayer.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Laws and Cases<\/h2>\n<p>Following a <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2021\/07\/12\/ignoring-georgia-illegal-voting-proves-democrats-dont-care-about-election-integrity-at-all\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">chaotic and messy 2020 election<\/a>, \u200bGeorgia\u2019s\u200d Republican-controlled legislature and governor implemented SB \u2063202, \u2064a benign law designed to \u2064enhance the integrity of Georgia\u2019s electoral process. Included \u2062in the measure were voter ID requirements for\u200d absentee \u200cvoting \u2014 a provision the majority \u200dof Americans\u2063 <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/07\/31\/exclusive-poll-shows-majority-of-americans-support-voter-id-limited-mail-in-voting\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">support<\/a> \u2014 and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalreview.com\/2021\/03\/joe-biden-botches-the-georgia-voting-law\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">safeguards<\/a> on giving\u200c voters gifts or money\u2062 while in \u2062line to vote or within \u200b150 feet of a polling\u2063 place.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-102b8285bf37e19a58d392460fa4aea8 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-6\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-102b8285bf37e19a58d392460fa4aea8\"><\/div>\n<p>Despite the temperate nature of SB 202, Democrats and their \u200dlegacy\u2063 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/horowitz-fighting-to-win\/\" title=\"HOROWITZ: Fighting To Win\">media allies<\/a> began baselessly smearing the law as a GOP-orchestrated effort to \u2064\u201csuppress\u201d nonwhite voters.\u2064 President Joe Biden grossly <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/09\/26\/biden-hosts-atlanta-braves-at-white-house-after-pushing-mlb-to-boycott-their-city-for-all-star-game\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">referred<\/a> to SB 202 as \u201cJim Crow on \u200bsteroids\u201d and called on Major League Baseball to\u200b relocate\u200d its 2021 \u2062All-Star Game from Atlanta in protest. \u2063The \u200cMLB\u200c ultimately acquiesced,\u200c <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/12\/06\/mlb-still-wont-apologize-after-damaging-georgias-economy-with-election-law-lies\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">condemning<\/a> the law and relocating the event to Colorado. The move cost the Peach State an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxbusiness.com\/politics\/mlb-all-star-game-atlanta-small-businesses-crushing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">estimated \u2063$100 million<\/a> in \u200drevenue.<\/p>\n<p>Contrary to Democrats\u2019 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rpc.senate.gov\/policy-papers\/myth-v-fact-georgias-election-integrity-act\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">claims<\/a> the law would suppress Georgians\u2019 \u200dability to vote, the state saw <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/12\/05\/georgia-election-integrity-reforms-are-driving-runoff-turnout-not-suppressing-it\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">record early\u2063 voter turnout<\/a> for the 2022 \u2062midterms\u2062 and the \u200cstate\u2019s subsequent Senate runoff election. A \u2064poll conducted after the midterms\u200d further <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2023\/01\/23\/poll-0-black-voters-say-they-had-poor-experience-voting-georgia\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">revealed<\/a> \u2062that <strong>zero percent<\/strong> of black Georgia voters\u2062 said they had a \u200c\u201cpoor\u201d experience voting in the 2022 contest.<\/p>\n<p>But the Democrats\u2019 propaganda blitz had\u200c already served its purpose. With \u2063the groundwork laid by their \u2062political and media allies, the DOJ had the \u200bjustification it needed to launch a lawsuit against SB 202 in June 2021, in \u2063which the agency parroted the lie that Georgia\u2019s election \u200dlaw \u200bwas designed to \u2062\u201cdeny[] or abridg[e]\u201d nonwhite Americans\u2019 right to vote.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c[T]he cumulative and\u200b discriminatory effect of these laws\u2014particularly on Black voters\u2014was known to lawmakers and that lawmakers adopted the law despite this,\u201d the agency baselessly \u200dalleged in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/opa\/pr\/justice-department-files-lawsuit-against-state-georgia-stop-racially-discriminatory\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">press release<\/a>. The lawsuit prompted the\u200d Republican National Committee (RNC) and National Republican Senatorial Committee to\u200c <a href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/2021\/07\/08\/rnc-nrsc-intervene-doj-georgia-voting-rights-case\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">intervene<\/a> in the case to defend the law\u2062 not long after.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-f8abb3e79e3e6f9625d93e5dd7adb9c1 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-10\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-f8abb3e79e3e6f9625d93e5dd7adb9c1\"><\/div>\n[[<strong>READ: <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/08\/04\/the-lefts-election-litigation-racket-abuses-democracy-to-line-their-own-pockets\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The Left\u2019s \u2064Election Litigation Racket Abuses Democracy To Line Their Own\u200b Pockets<\/a><\/strong>]\n<p>But Georgia was just the beginning of the DOJ\u2019s legal crusade against Republican-backed election \u200blaws. In September 2021, Texas \u200cGov. Greg Abbott signed \u2062SB 1, a measure that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/texas-election-law-what-is-in-it\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">expanded<\/a> \u2064poll watcher\u2064 access,\u2063 mandated voter ID requirements for mail-in voting, \u2063and banned paid ballot\u200d harvesting in Texas elections. The law also included\u2062 provisions\u200b ensuring \u200bonly citizens are\u2062 included on the state\u2019s voter rolls, \u2062banning\u200d \u201cdrive-thru\u201d voting, and prohibiting Texas from\u200c \u201csending out mail\u2062 ballot\u200d applications to people \u2064who \u200cdid not \u2064request them from election officials.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Predictably, Democrats vilified SB 1 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/politics\/elections\/texas-gov-abbott-signs-sweeping-election-bill-law-n1278602\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">as<\/a> \u201cJim Crow 2.0,\u201d prompting the DOJ to \u2062 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/opa\/pr\/justice-department-files-lawsuit-against-state-texas-protect-voting-rights\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">file<\/a> suit \u2062against Texas\u200b in\u200b November 2021. As in the \u2063DOJ\u2019s lawfare against Georgia\u2019s SB 202, the\u2063 RNC and\u2063 other conservative groups <a href=\"https:\/\/mecklenburg.nc.gop\/rnc_nrcc_nrsc_intervene_in_united_states_v_texas_election_integrity_case\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">intervened<\/a> to uphold the \u200cstatute.<\/p>\n<p>A\u200b federal district court\u2064 judge \u2062issued a\u200d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.myhighplains.com\/news\/your-local-election-hq\/federal-court-finds-texas-law-requiring-rejection-of-mail-ballots-violates-the-civil-rights-act\/\">preliminary<\/a> ruling in the \u2063case\u200c last week,\u200c claiming the provision\u2064 of SB 1 \u201crequiring \u2064that mail voters \u200cprovide the same identification number they used when they registered to vote\u201d violated \u2064the Civil Rights Act, \u200caccording\u200c to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/politics\/elections\/federal-judges-rule-parts-texas-georgia-voting-laws-rcna100740\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">NBC News<\/a>. A\u2063 final decision on\u2064 the case is expected in the coming weeks.<\/p>\n<p>The DOJ also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/newsletters\/florida-playbook\/2023\/07\/12\/department-of-justice-jumps-into-fl-voting-case-00105819\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">joined<\/a> a Democrat-backed \u200blawsuit last month \u200bagainst a\u2064 recently enacted\u200d election law passed\u200b by Florida Republicans.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The \u20622020 Playbook with a Twist<\/h2>\n<p>Contrary\u2063 to its claims, the DOJ\u2019s \u200belection lawfare has nothing to do\u2062 with \u201cprotecting democracy\u201d \u200dand everything to do with inserting itself into elections to benefit the Democrat Party. It\u2019s an obvious strategy aimed at undercutting widely supported \u200belection\u2062 safeguards \u200dthat ensure\u2062 a fair\u200b and transparent process \u2062in\u200c which all eligible voters can participate.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, Democrat partisans have never cared about transparency. \u200dThe only thing they value \u2064is acquiring government power and doing whatever it takes to maintain \u2063it.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-5f4905dcffa5b7932d39c694dab94d17 fdrlst__b89e9-after-post-content\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-5f4905dcffa5b7932d39c694dab94d17\"><\/div>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\">\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>to keep the allegations against Trump fresh in the minds of voters during the GOP primary.
