min-height: 50px;  text-align: center;\">  \t<script>  \t\tgoogletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('div-gpt-ad-1663871513696-art-1'); });  \t<\/script>  <\/div>\n<div class=\"ad-slot__ad-label\">Advertisement<\/div>\n<\/p>\n<p>Whether your young child is continuously watching \u200ctelevision, using a tablet, \u2064computer,\u2063 or \u2064smartphone, they are still\u2064 at a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/following-the-nutritarian-diet-to-prevent-cancer-and-chronic-diseases\/\" title=\"Following the Nutritarian Diet to Prevent Cancer and Chronic Diseases\">significantly higher risk<\/a> of developing developmental difficulties than a child who does not use \u200bthe \u200dsame type of technology.<\/p>\n<p>The\u200d recent study that \u200bwas <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/jamanetwork.com\/journals\/jamapediatrics\/fullarticle\/2808593\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/jamanetwork.com\/journals\/jamapediatrics\/fullarticle\/2808593\" target=\"_blank\">published in the journal JAMA Pediatrics<\/a> explained\u2062 that these\u2063 delays could be in communication, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/3-things-that-could-have-drastically-changed-the-outcome-of-the-daunte-wright-shooting\/\" title=\"3 Things That Could Have Drastically Changed The Outcome Of The Daunte Wright Shooting\">fine motor skills<\/a>, problem-solving, \u200dor personal and social abilities.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p><strong>\u201cPassive screen time,\u2062 such \u2064as mindlessly watching television or videos, may not\u2064 allow children to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/study-screen-time-for-toddlers-linked-to-developmental-delays\/\" title=\"Study finds link between screen time and developmental delays in toddlers.\">practice interactive <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/new-study-reveals-effect-of-pandemic-on-babies\/\" title=\"New Study Reveals Effect Of Pandemic On Babies\">problem-solving skills<\/a><\/a>,\u201d<\/strong> said Dr. Jason Nagata, associate\u200b professor of pediatrics at the University\u200c of California, San Francisco.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p><strong>\u201cScreens can disrupt\u2062 or displace interactions with caregivers and limit opportunities for verbal exchanges, \u200dwhich can impair communication and social skills,\u201d<\/strong> he\u200b added. <strong>\u201cWhen screen use does not have an interactive or physical component, children are sedentary and may not be able\u2063 to practice their gross motor skills.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>However, Nagata was not\u2062 involved in this specific study.<\/p>\n<p>The research, which included over 7,000 Japanese children between July 2013 and March 2017, examined how many\u200d hours per day young\u200b children used screens\u2064 at age one based on their mothers\u2019 \u2063reports. The researchers also\u200b looked into how the children performed on several developmental exams between the ages of 2 and \u20644.<\/p>\n<p>The study discovered that by the age\u2062 of two years old, children who had\u200d spent up to four hours per day looking at screens were up to three times \u2063more likely to exhibit\u200c developmental impairments in communication\u200d and problem-solving abilities.<\/p>\n<p>Children who \u2064spent \u2064four or more hours a day in front of a screen were nearly five times more likely to have poor communication abilities, twice as likely to have poor personal and \u2062social skills, and nearly twice as likely to have poor motor\u200d skills.<\/p>\n<p>According to the study,\u2064 developing\u2062 communication and problem-solving skills were still\u2062 ongoing struggles for the \u200dsubjects by the age of four.<\/p>\n<p>The\u200c study also found that mothers of children who spent the most time on\u2064 screens\u200c were typically younger and [in many cases] first-time mothers, had \u2064lower incomes, less education, and were more \u2064likely to\u200d suffer from postpartum depression.<\/p>\n<p>However, \u200dmany \u2063experts were quick to point out the study\u2019s inconsistencies, like the fact that the quantity of screen time reported by\u200b mothers was not split\u200d by \u201ctype,\u201d\u200d such as educational media vs. entertaining \u2063media.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p><strong>\u201cNot all screen time is equal.
