Bankman-Fried \u2063has\u200c <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/judge-paves-way-for-dem-megadonor-sbf-to-face-trial\/\" title=\"Judge allows Democratic megadonor SBF to proceed to trial.\">acknowledged inadequate risk management<\/a> at FTX, but has \u200ddenied \u200dstealing customer funds. \u2063 <\/p>\n<p>The indictment no longer charges Bankman-Fried with conspiring to violate U.S. campaign finance laws. Prosecutors said the Bahamas, which extradited Bankman-Fried\u200b to the United States in December 2022, objected to him \u2064being\u200c tried on that count. <\/p>\n<p>Prosecutors with the U.S. Attorney\u2019s office\u200d in Manhattan said they would nevertheless seek to show\u2064 that the $100 million Bankman-Fried allegedly donated to\u200c U.S. political campaigns and causes\u200b was part \u2064of his wider-ranging fraud scheme. <\/p>\n<p>At Tuesday\u2019s hearing, his\u200b lawyers \u200csaid the jail\u2019s failure\u200d to\u2062 provide him with the medication Adderall to treat \u200cattention \u2063deficit hyperactive disorder \u2013 despite a court order for\u200c the facility \u2064to do so \u2013 and serve\u2064 him vegan \u200bfood would hinder\u2062 his \u200cability\u200d to participate in preparing his defense case. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cBecause\u200c he\u2019s following his principles, he is \u2063literally now subsisting on bread and water,\u201d Cohen said, \u200dadding that his supply\u2063 of the medication Emsam to treat depression was running \u200clow. <\/p>\n<p>Kaplan, who will oversee Bankman-Fried\u2019s trial, \u200bon Aug. 14 ordered the jail\u200d to provide\u200b the defendant with the two drugs.\u200d <\/p>\n<p>Netburn said during the hearing she would ask \u2064the\u2064 U.S.\u2063 Justice Department\u2019s Bureau of \u200dPrisons, which runs the jail, to address the issues\u2062 with\u2064 Bankman-Fried\u2019s medication.
