In September 2014, Schwerin \u2064sent Hunter an article highlighting\u2063 the Commission&#8217;s ability to leverage cooperation\u2063 from foreign \u200bgovernments.<\/p>\n<p>With his government-issued &#8220;Official Passport,&#8221; Schwerin traveled \u2063to Eastern Europe,\u200b a region\u200c where his business with Hunter, Rosemont Seneca Partners, heavily relied on political connections. He resigned\u2063 in September 2019 without providing an explanation.<\/p>\n<p>The Commission&#8217;s refusal to release\u200d records until faced with litigation suggests a\u2063 violation\u200d of the Freedom of Information Act.
