This time, he intended to drive a stolen van into a crowd of people at a\u200c nearby airport.<\/p>\n<p>Rondell Henry, a 32-year-old resident of Germantown, Maryland, has reached\u2062 a plea agreement with Justice Department prosecutors.\u2062 If all\u2064 goes according to plan, he\u200b could be released from federal custody as early as \u2062October, pending his sentencing for the \u2064airport plot that he \u200cultimately abandoned. He then drove the \u200bvan to Dulles\u2062 International Airport in Virginia and entered a terminal building on March \u200d27, 2019.<\/p>\n<p>According\u200c to a court filing accompanying his plea agreement, &#8220;Henry unsuccessfully \u200battempted\u2063 to follow another individual into a restricted area of the airport, but the other \u2064individual prevented Henry from entering the restricted area.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Investigators later discovered that \u200bMr. Henry went to the airport with the intention of causing harm. He admitted that he &#8220;was trying to hurt people there&#8221; and &#8220;was \u200cgoing to try to drive \u200cthrough a crowd of people.&#8221; However, \u200bhe ultimately left\u200c because he felt there wasn&#8217;t a large enough\u2064 crowd \u200cpresent at the\u2064 airport.<\/p>\n<p>The felony charge to which Mr. Henry pleaded guilty carries a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/kim-potter-to-be-charged-with-second-degree-manslaughter-in-daunte-wright-shooting\/\" title=\"Kim Potter To Be Charged With Second-Degree Manslaughter In Daunte Wright Shooting\">maximum prison sentence<\/a> of 20 years. However, the\u200d charge to which he has now pleaded \u200bguilty is unrelated to the alleged ISIS-inspired plot to carry out an attack at National Harbor,\u200d a popular waterfront destination near the nation&#8217;s capital.<\/p>\n<p>Curiously, the court filings do\u200d not mention the ISIS terrorist \u200cgroup or provide any specific \u2063ideological motivation for the airport attack\u200d plot.<\/p>\n<p>After leaving the airport, Mr. Henry drove the stolen U-Haul to National Harbor, where\u200b he parked it. The police arrested him the following morning \u200bafter discovering the van and witnessing Mr. Henry jumping over a security fence.<\/p>\n<p>Authorities have revealed that Mr. Henry had planned to carry out an attack similar to the one in Nice, \u200cFrance, in 2016, where a driver ran over and\u2062 killed dozens of people.
