Two IRS whistleblowers \u200bclaimed that his \u2063office showed preferential treatment to\u2064 the Biden family, leading Republicans to accuse President Joe Biden&#8217;s Justice Department of protecting his family. Hunter \u2064Biden&#8217;s \u200dlegal team has accused Weiss of bias in the opposite \u2063direction,\u2062 claiming that he discarded an earlier offer of\u2064 immunity to appease Republican critics.<\/p>\n<p>While the two prosecutors who signed the now-withdrawn <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/fiat-chrysler-to-pay-30m-settlement-linked-to-racketeering-scandal\/\" title=\"Fiat Chrysler to pay M settlement linked to racketeering scandal\">plea deal<\/a> offered\u200b to Hunter Biden \u2062in\u2064 June do not appear to be Democratic donors, the political affiliation of other\u200c prosecutors during the alleged misconduct by Weiss adds to the scrutiny faced by the special counsel.<\/p>\n<h3>Close Personal Connections to\u2062 the Biden\u200d Family<\/h3>\n<p>One\u200c prosecutor, Daniel Logan, \u200dhad a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/hunter-biden-defector-emails-pipeline-to-obama-admin-seen-as-currency\/\" title=\"Hunter Biden Defector Emails: 'Pipeline' to Obama Admin Seen as 'Currency'\">close relationship<\/a> with the\u2063 Biden family before joining the\u200c Delaware U.S. attorney&#8217;s office. In 2010, he sent an email to Hunter Biden expressing gratitude for \u2062a donation made in\u200d the name of Logan&#8217;s ailing son, referring to Hunter Biden\u200d as a &#8220;good friend.&#8221; Logan previously worked for Beau Biden, Delaware&#8217;s former attorney general.<\/p>\n<p>Another prosecutor, Alexander \u2062Mackler, who was a personal friend of Hunter Biden&#8217;s, also had a close personal connection to the Biden family while the investigation was ongoing. Mackler now works in the Delaware attorney general&#8217;s office.<\/p>\n<h3>Political Affiliations of Prosecutors<\/h3>\n<p>Most of the prosecutors\u200b in Weiss&#8217;s office did not\u200d appear to donate to any political candidates. However, one prosecutor who was present at the opening of the investigation \u200ddonated to President Joe Biden&#8217;s 2020 campaign. Another prosecutor, Michael McTaggart, was \u200ca \u2063<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/immediate-conflict-gop-demands-michigan-judge-recuse-herself-from-main-abortion-case-2\/\" title=\"\u2018Immediate Conflict\u2019: GOP Demands Michigan Judge Recuse Herself From Main Abortion Case\">long-time donor<\/a> to Delaware Democrats and worked under Beau Biden at the Delaware Department of Justice.<\/p>\n<p>It is worth noting that Weiss&#8217;s office shuffled the \u2063prosecutors on the Hunter Biden case amidst the scrutiny it faced.\u200c Lesley Wolf, who played a prominent role in the investigation, \u2063was accused by IRS whistleblowers of obstructing investigative steps. She was involved in negotiations over a plea deal that \u2064granted broad immunity to Hunter Biden but was later pulled back following the whistleblowers&#8217; testimony.<\/p>\n<p>The prosecutors who signed the \u200dplea deal, Leo Wise and Benjamin Wallace, are relatively new to the case overseen by Weiss since early \u20632019.
