The timing of when the justices will consider this new petition remains uncertain.<\/p>\n<p>In the majority opinion\u2062 for\u2063 the case of \u200c <em>Students for Fair Admissions \u2063(SFFA) v. \u200cHarvard<\/em>, Chief Justice John Roberts eloquently stated that universities have wrongly prioritized an individual&#8217;s skin color over their personal \u2062achievements and growth. It was\u200c filed on\u200c August\u2064 21, 2023, and \u200dawaits the court&#8217;s\u200b consideration.<\/p>\n<p>Thomas Jefferson High School for\u200b Science and\u2062 Technology (TJ) holds\u2064 the prestigious title of being the best \u200c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/retired-nfl-player-calls-for-separate-transgender-category-of-sports-after-biden-executive-order\/\" title=\"Retired NFL Player Calls For Separate Transgender Category Of Sports After Biden Executive Order\">public high school<\/a> in the United \u2064States, according \u2062to U.S. \u200dNews and \u200dWorld Report.\u200b With a student body of 1,809 and a student-to-teacher ratio of 18\u20131, \u2063TJ provides an exceptional \u2062educational experience for students in grades 9 \u2062through 12.<\/p>\n<p>The student body at TJ is diverse, with Asians\u200d comprising 72.0 percent, whites at 18.3 percent, two or more races\u2063 at 4.8 percent, Hispanics at 3.0 percent, and blacks at 1.8 percent. However, \u200bthe Coalition for TJ, a group consisting of over 200 members, believes that the admissions policy discriminates against Asian \u2063American students.<\/p>\n<p>The petitioning group argues\u200d that the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/virginia-parents-say-school-board-gag-rule-stifles-criticism\/\" title=\"Virginia Parents Say School Board Gag Rule Stifles Criticism\">school board implemented<\/a> changes to the admissions \u2062policy in 2020 with the intention of racially balancing the freshman class by excluding Asian Americans. \u2063These changes coincided with the aftermath of George Floyd&#8217;s tragic death, which sparked widespread protests across the United \u200dStates and beyond.<\/p>\n<p>Initially, a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/woke-activists-in-the-workplace-are-sparking-a-surge-in-free-speech-cases\/\" title=\"Woke Activists In The Workplace Are Sparking A Surge In Free Speech Cases\">federal district court ruled<\/a> in favor of the Coalition \u2062for TJ, granting summary judgment to the group. The\u2064 group firmly believes that the school board&#8217;s \u2063actions constitute proxy discrimination, \u2062as K-12 schools\u2063 are not allowed \u200dto use overt racial preferences like higher education institutions.<\/p>\n<p>Erin Wilcox, an attorney from\u2064 the Pacific Legal Foundation, explains that the school board imposed a cap on the number \u200bof students admitted \u200cfrom \u200deach middle school in the district. This had a significant impact on Asian\u2063 American students, as many of them\u2064 attended \u200badvanced middle \u2064schools that traditionally sent a large\u2062 number of students to TJ.
