Let\u2019s take them one by one.<\/p>\n<h3>Hypothetical Question 1: <em>Do\u200d you believe that the \u2064former president is potentially \u200cguilty of criminal conduct with regard to \u200b <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/08\/15\/trumps-georgia-indictment-shows-the-democrat-political-prosecutions-are-so-much-worse-than-the-supposed-crimes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">any of the four indictments<\/a> he \u200dcurrently faces?<\/em><\/h3>\n<p>Disqualifying answer: <strong>\u201cThe \u2062president is innocent until <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/crenshaw-issues-list-conservative-guide-to-the-culture-wars\/\" title=\"Crenshaw Issues List: \u2018Conservative Guide To The Culture Wars\u2019\">proven guilty<\/a>, and he deserves his day in court.\u201d<\/strong> Or: <strong>\u201cTrump \u2063was a great president, and I\u2019m thankful for \u2064the things he accomplished in\u2064 office. At \u200dthe same time, we need to move on from the constant\u200d drama \u200dand \u200dbaggage that he brings to the table.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Any\u2062 answer that fails\u200d to reject the very legitimacy of\u2063 the left\u2019s pursuit of Trump is a flop. That\u2019s not to say anyone needs to defend or excuse\u200c his conduct. The point is that up until Trump, the same conduct by anyone else has\u200d <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/07\/19\/as-michigan-charges-trump-electors-with-felonies-recall-how-leftists-everywhere-urged-2016-electors-to-defect-to-hillary\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">never been <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/supreme-court-issues-ruling-against-prisoner-given-27-years-for-possessing-gun\/\" title=\"Supreme Court rules against 27-year sentence for gun possession.\">deemed criminal<\/a><\/a>, which\u200b is to say nothing of it being worthy of prosecution with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/salon-owner-files-lawsuit-over-oregon-governor-threatening-to-have-cps-take-her-kids-for-defying-lockdown\/\" title=\"Salon Owner Files Lawsuit Over Oregon Governor Threatening to Have CPS Take Her Kids for Defying Lockdown\">full weight<\/a> of the Justice Department. This isn\u2019t about Trump or due process. It\u2019s about the left\u2019s growing \u2063belief that political differences\u2064 should \u200dbe \u2062settled \u2062not with elections but by physical force.<\/p>\n<h3>Hypothetical \u2063Question \u200b2: <em>Do you believe the 2020 election was stolen, and if not, \u200cwill you say tonight \u200cthat \u2063you\u200c accept the result of that election and will do the same in\u2062 2024?<\/em><\/h3>\n<p>Disqualifying answer: <strong>\u201cThe former president is \u200cwrong. The 2020 election was not stolen,\u200d and\u200d his \u200battempts to overturn\u2062 it were dangerous to \u200cour democracy.\u201d<\/strong> Or: <strong>\u201cJoe Biden is\u2062 the president, and there\u200b were problems with that election, but we need to look to the future.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Accepting the premise of this ever-so-tired but \u200cstill important question is a failure. If you\u2019re willing to \u2063answer, \u201cWas \u2062the 2020 election stolen?\u201d with a yes or no answer, just stay home. You\u2062 might as well throw in whether you still beat your \u200dwife.<\/p>\n<p>The fact is that the election was fixed in favor \u2062of Democrats, from the left\u2019s ballot rigging, to the \u200cintelligence community\u2019s information meddling, to the national media\u2019s Covid hyping. And who can forget the race war instigating? Ah, memories. If acknowledging that \u2063reality \u2063is to undermine the 2020 election\u2019s authenticity, so be it.<\/p>\n<p>There is no moving \u200don. It happened. \u200dIt was a great injustice and a\u200c disgrace. The\u200b people still angry about \u2062it don\u2019t deserve to be told that\u200d it\u2019s time \u200cto \u2064\u201cmove on.\u201d They will move \u2064on\u2064 when\u200b there is accountability. If that\u2019s not part of a candidate\u2019s answer, he can \u2063go ahead\u200d and save his\u200b donors some \u2063money.<\/p>\n<h3>Hypothetical Question 3: <em>During\u2064 former president Trump\u2019s term, he oversaw \u200chis party\u2019s loss of control of\u2062 the House, the Senate, and then\u200d the presidency. Some within the GOP also fault him for \u2063a mediocre midterm performance\u200c in 2022 and thereby \u2062doubt he can succeed in the general. Is\u2063 Donald Trump \u2062a \u200cliability to the party<\/em>?<\/h3>\n<p>Disqualifying \u200canswer:\u200c <strong>[Insert anything here outside of, \u201cI don\u2019t care who thinks he\u2019s a liability. We\u2019re here to choose a nominee. I want it to be me. It should be me. And if it\u2019s not, I will walk through fire and crawl over shattered glass to support who the voters decide is best.\u201d]<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you \u200dwant to share your personal thoughts and reflections on political strategy and weigh in on whether voters are shortsighted for their choices, write a book and go on a speaking tour. That\u2019s more or less what Chris Christie and Asa Hutchinson are doing, and that\u2019s why neither of them\u200b will be the nominee.<\/p>\n<p>Regardless of whether the non-Trump candidates answer these questions with perfect precision, almost all of \u200bthem will\u2064 <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/08\/18\/nikki-haley-is-hillary-2-0\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">have to drop out<\/a> \u200bbetween now and next summer. Until then, they can\u200d at \u200dleast get this\u200c very\u200c simple thing \u2062right.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>be expected \u2014 try to attack Trump or engage in a heated exchange, they will only be wasting their time.
