In his\u200c ruling, he stated, &#8220;The state has demonstrated \u200da reasonable probability\u200c of success on its\u2064 claim that the Amended Policies, if implemented, will have a disparate impact on transgender, gender\u200d nonconforming, and nonbinary youth.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>All three New Jersey school districts <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/media\/new-jersey-gov-phil-murphy-blasted-vast-arrogance-kids-gender-identity-make-schools-lie-parents\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">approved<\/a> \u2062the new\u2063 gender transition policy \u2064on June 20. This \u2064policy required schools to inform parents if their children requested to change their gender identity, including \u200dtheir pronouns or name, \u200bor if they wanted to use facilities or participate \u200din sports teams that align with a different gender. However, the policies did include\u2064 exceptions in cases where \u200cnotifying parents could potentially harm the student.<\/p>\n<p>These three New Jersey school districts \u200chave been at the center of a \u2062push by local parents for more transparency from schools regarding their \u200bchildren. One \u200bmother from \u2063Middletown, who spoke at \u2062a heated June 20 school \u200cboard meeting on \u2064the policy, <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2023\/08\/08\/new-jersey-parents-fight-gov-phil-murphys-gag-on-schools-from-telling-them-kids-are-trans\/#\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">expressed\u2062 her strong opposition<\/a> to the government&#8217;s\u200b involvement\u2062 in co-parenting.<\/p>\n<p>The \u200bjudge&#8217;s decision on Friday aligns with\u200b New Jersey Attorney \u2063General Matthew Platkin, who filed a lawsuit against the\u2063 three districts in June. The lawsuit accused \u2064them of violating a state\u2064 discrimination law and endangering students who identify as transgender.<\/p>\n<p>While critics have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.city-journal.org\/article\/reckless-and-irresponsible\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">cautioned<\/a> against exaggerating the link between \u2063suicide and not affirming trans-identifying children, the Marlboro\u2064 lawsuit <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/2023\/06\/22\/murphy-new-jersey-school-districts-transgender-policy-00103127#:~:text=The%20lawsuits%2C%20filed%20Wednesday%20by,put%20transgender%20students%20at%20risk.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">highlighted<\/a> the potential \u2062mental health risks and \u2064harm\u2064 that could arise from &#8220;outing&#8221; these \u200dstudents against their will.<\/p>\n<p>The Marlboro school board&#8217;s attorney, Marc Zitomer, \u200cexpressed his dissatisfaction with the ruling, emphasizing\u200c that parents\u200c would be left in the dark as the\u200b case progresses \u200bthrough \u2064the court system.
