One more indictment, and \u200dthis election is closed out,\u201d Trump said, according to<a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/homenews\/campaign\/4138653-trump-claims-he-only-needs-one-more-indictment-to-win-2024-election\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> The Hill. <\/a><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">\u201cWe \u200bneed one more indictment to CLOSE out this \u200belection\u201d!?<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/4TrkORMvdL\">pic.twitter.com\/4TrkORMvdL<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 \u200cFeisty-n-Friends (@FriendsFeisty) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/FriendsFeisty\/status\/1692325074458546440?\">August \u206217, 2023<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Well,\u2063 he got it.<\/p>\n<p>And, it looks like he could even\u2063 be right about closing out the election.<\/p>\n<h3>According to \u2062 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mediaite.com\/tv\/remarkable-cnn-lays-out-just-how-much-indictments-actually-have-changed-trumps-polling-against-biden\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mediaite,<\/a> in a recent interview with CNN\u2019s Jim Acosta, \u2064CNN\u2019s senior date \u200creporter Harry Enten discussed the influence of the four criminal indictments against Donald Trump on his prospects in the 2024 presidential election when pitted against <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/report-biden-obsessed-irritated-aides-refusing-even-address-key-issue\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">President Joe Biden<\/a>.<\/h3>\n<p>According to Enten, Trump\u2019s polling figures in the <a title=\"Pro-Trump, Religious Groups Begin Turning Up Heat On GOP To Take Action On Marjorie Taylor Greene\" href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/pro-trump-religious-groups-begin-turning-up-heat-on-gop-to-take-action-on-marjorie-taylor-greene\/\">primary race<\/a> were\u2062 notably lower before he\u2064 faced his initial indictment in New \u2062York but have surged since then. In February, according to numbers Enten presented, Trump was \u2064supported by 43 percent of \u200dRepublicans. His closest challenger, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/desantis-puts-rivalry-newsom-aside-offers-help-hurricane-hilary\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis<\/a>, had 28 percent support.<\/p>\n<p>Despite\u2063 facing federal indictments related to his handling of classified information and\u2062 efforts\u2063 to challenge the 2020\u200d election, \u200bthe\u200d former \u200bpresident maintains \u2064a substantial \u200clead of \u206440 points over his\u2062 competitors in the\u200d crowded Republican primary field, according \u2062to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realclearpolitics.com\/epolls\/2024\/president\/us\/2024_republican_presidential_nomination-7548.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">RealClearPolitics<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe GOP base \u200bhas made up\u2064 its mind when it comes to these indictments,\u201d Enten told\u2064 Acosta after presenting polling that shows \u2064over 80 percent of the \u200dGOP disapprove of the Trump\u2062 indictments.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey don\u2019t believe that Trump should have\u2062 been \u2064charged with \u2062a crime. \u2064The vast majority \u2062believe that. And \u2062the fact is, it just \u2063does not seem like there\u2019s any changing\u200d of their minds on any of this, no matter how many indictments there\u200b are,\u201d\u200c Enten\u200d said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c[A]t this\u2063 particular point, it is Donald Trump against the field. He has the majority of Republicans in his camp and it\u2063 doesn\u2019t\u2063 seem like there\u2019s any stopping him at this particular point, Jim,\u201d Enten added, Mediaite reported.<\/p>\n<p>Enten told \u2063Acosta that in a <a title=\"Poll: Republican Chuck Grassley Has 14 Point Lead over Democrat Abby Finkenauer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/poll-republican-chuck-grassley-has-14-point-lead-over-democrat-abby-finkenauer\/\">hypothetical general election<\/a> between Trump and \u200cBiden, Trump is\u200b in \u200ba \u201cstronger position\u201d against Biden now than he was in the\u2064 entire 2020 election.<\/p>\n<p>You have to know it\u2019s a real phenomenon \u200cwhen<a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/cnn-admits-truth-donald-trump-live-tv-bad-news-joe-biden\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> CNN is admitting it<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>CBS News had \u200dto <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/trump-poll-indictments-2023-08-20\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">admit\u2063 the same thing<\/a>\u2014\u00a0Trump is surging in the polls.<\/p>\n<p>In the aftermath \u2064of his <a title=\"Nikki Haley doubts Trump's chances in general election.\" href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/nikki-haley-says-trump-cant-win-in-general-election\/\">fourth indictment<\/a>, on \u200dAug. 14, Trump has surged to his most commanding lead yet\u2062 over his 2024 competitors in \u2062a CBS News poll. The poll revealed a stunning 62 percent of GOP support in his \u200dfavor, marking \u2062an impressive lead of 46 percentage points over the second-place contender, DeSantis, who comes\u2063 in at 16 percent.<\/p>\n<p>Interestingly, \u200ba majority of Trump\u2019s supporters viewed these \u200clegal issues as an additional motive to stand by \u2062him. Voters were asked about sources of information \u2063and if \u2064they \u201cfeel \u2063what\u2063 they tell\u2062 you is true.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Seventy-one percent said \u200dTrump versus 63 percent for friends and \u2062family.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWell,\u200b there\u2019s no debate about this: Right now, the Republican\u2063 Party would easily re-nominate Donald Trump for \u20632024.
