The analyst, Rick Klein, highlights \u2064that \u2062if\u2064 Trump fails \u200dto \u200dattend, he will be unable to respond \u2063to attacks against him, while his main opponent, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, will take\u2062 center stage.<\/p>\n<p>Klein, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/project-veritas-strips-cnn-naked\/\" title=\"Project Veritas Strips CNN Naked\">political director<\/a> for \u2063ABC News, made these\u200c remarks\u2063 in light of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/top-political-analyst-on-downsides-of-trump-not-debating-desantis-center-stage-cant-respond-to-attacks\/\" title=\"Trump's decision not to debate has drawbacks: DeSantis takes the spotlight, unable to counter attacks.\">numerous challenges faced<\/a> \u200cby \u200dthe \u2064former president, \u2062including being indicted in four <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/secret-service-agents-subpoenaed-to-testify-in-documents-criminal-case-against-trump-report\/\" title=\"Secret Service Agents Subpoenaed To Testify In Documents Criminal Case Against Trump: Report\">separate criminal investigations<\/a> this year.<\/p>\n<p>During an interview on ABC News\u200c &#8220;This Week,&#8221;\u2063 host Jonathan Karl asked Klein about \u200dthe potential risks of Trump&#8217;s absence from the debate.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium\">\u201cOh, 100 \u200bpercent,\u201d <\/span>Klein<span style=\"font-size: medium\"> responded. \u201cAnd the other candidates are \u2014 he\u2019s going to take a lot of incoming and not have any effective\u200d response. This comes in the wake of the Georgia indictments last\u200d week. He\u2019s not really been\u2062 able to talk publicly \u2063on that. He\u2019s even canceled the plans\u2064 for the press conference he was going \u2062to \u200chave. \u2064So, he\u2019s going to be out there\u2013 without an ability to push back in \u200dreal time.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u201cNow, he\u2019s \u2063going \u200bto do some\u2062 counter-programming. \u2062He\u2019s \u2063going to \u2062basically test the proposition that he doesn\u2019t have to engage with the other\u200c candidates,\u201d Klein continued. \u201cBut for the other \u200ccandidates,\u2064 if you\u200c think that \u2063this is a race to become the non-Trump candidate, this is the perfect opportunity to do that \u2062with Ron \u200cDeSantis now at center stage. \u200dThey\u2019re\u2062 going to have a chance to kind of\u2062 strut their \u200cstuff without having \u2062to \u200dworry about the direct rebuttal where he always \u200bdominates. He\u2019ll come up a lot.
