The court found that the cases should not have been dismissed and that the men are able\u200d to validly\u200c claim that the two corporations that were owned by Jackson had a responsibility to protect them.<\/p>\n<p>The two men\u2064 had\u2064 alleged that Jackson abused them for years\u200b when they were young boys.\u200b The two became more widely known when they told their stories in \u2062the HBO \u2062documentary \u201cLeaving\u200c Neverland\u201d which was released in 2019.<\/p>\n<p>Robson and Safechuck claim \u200dthat Jackson had\u2064 abused them in the late 1980s and early 1990s while they\u200b were\u2063 staying at his Neverland\u2063 Ranch.<\/p>\n<p>Robson said \u200bthat he met \u200bJackson when he was five years old and went on to\u200b appear in \u2062three of\u2064 his \u200bmusic \u200bvideos. He said\u2064 that \u200bJackson molested him for seven \u2064years after that.<\/p>\n<p>Safechuck\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/sidney-powells-georgia-emergency-declaratory-judgment-demands-seizure-of-every-voting-machine-in-state\/\" title=\"Sidney Powell's Georgia Emergency Declaratory Judgment Demands Seizure of Every Voting Machine in State\">lawsuit claims<\/a> that he met Jackson when he was nine years old while filming a Pepsi commercial. He said that Jackson \u200cthen proceeded to call him often, and give him \u200dgifts before\u200c starting to sexually abuse him \u200bas well.  <\/p>\n<p>The two filed\u200d their lawsuits in 2013 and\u200b 2014 against the two corporations, MJJ Productions, and MJJ Ventures. The\u2064 singer was the sole owner and shareholder in the companies at the time of his death in \u20622009.<\/p>\n<p>In 2017, the \u200blawsuits were dismissed for being past \u2063the statute of limitations. In\u2063 2020, a new law that was passed in California extended the statute of limitations\u200d for \u200bthose who\u200c were abused as children, which allowed the two cases to be revived at the time.<\/p>\n<p>In 2021, a judge in Los Angeles found that the two corporations\u200b had \u201cno\u200d legal ability\u201d to control Jackson and they could not be held responsible for\u2062 his actions, therefore dismissing the\u2064 suits once again.<\/p>\n<p>On Firday,\u2063 the California\u200b appeals court disagreed with the previous judge\u2019s \u2063decision.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cA\u2064 corporation that facilitates\u200d the\u200b sexual abuse of children by one of its employees is not excused from an affirmative duty\u2063 to \u200cprotect those children \u2064merely because it is solely owned by the perpetrator of the abuse,\u201d the court \u2063said. \u2062\u201cit would be\u200d perverse to find no duty based\u2063 on the corporate defendant having only one shareholder. \u2063And so we reverse the judgments\u200b entered for the corporations.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Attorney for the \u2063two men, Vince Finaldi, released a statement stating that they were\u2062 \u201cpleased\u201d that the court\u200c overturned the previous\u2062 judge\u2019s \u201cincorrect\u2063 rulings in these cases, which were against California law and would have set\u2062 a dangerous precedent that endangered children throughout state and country. We eagerly look \u200dforward to a trial on the merits.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Jonathan Steinsapir, the attorney representing the Jackson estate, said that they were \u201cdisappointed\u201d in \u200cthe reversal.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cTwo <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/michael-jackson-sexual-abuse-lawsuits-revived\/\" title=\"Michael Jackson's sexual abuse lawsuits resurface.\">distinguished trial judges repeatedly dismissed<\/a> these cases\u200b on numerous\u2062 occasions over the last \u200cdecade because the law required it,\u201d Steinsapir told\u2064 The Associated Press. \u201cWe remain fully\u200b confident that\u200c Michael is innocent\u200d of these allegations, which \u200dare contrary to all\u200c credible evidence and independent corroboration, \u200dand which were only first made years after Michael\u2019s death by men motivated solely by money.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>In July, as the cases were\u2062 being\u200c reviewed,\u2064 he argued that employees should \u2062not be \u2062legally required to stop the behavior of their boss.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cIt would require low-level employees to confront their supervisor and call them pedophiles,\u201d he argued.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The lawsuits\u200b are now in \u200cthe process of \u2063moving to a jury trial in Los Angeles.<\/p>\n<p>Stay informed!
