Approximately 90% \u200dof the\u200b population in Myanmar practices Buddhism.<\/p>\n<p>The news report states that Nusbaumer wrote,\u2063 filmed, and edited a 75-minute movie \u200btitled \u2062&#8221;Don&#8217;t Expect Anything,&#8221; which was uploaded on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/ap-rfk-jr-sues-google-youtube\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">YouTube<\/a> on July \u206324. Short clips\u2062 from the movie circulated on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/the-new-acting-attorney-general-jeff-rosen-recently-wrote-an-essay-on-foreign-influence-in-us-elections-this-tells-us-a-little-about-his-knowledge-of-whats-going-on-today\/\" title=\"The New Acting Attorney General Jeff Rosen Recently Wrote an Essay on Foreign Influence in US Elections \u2013 This Tells Us A Little About His Knowledge of What\u2019s Going On Today\">social media platforms<\/a> \u2062such as \u200dTikTok and Facebook, drawing criticism from Buddhist nationalists in Myanmar.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;Although the people\u2064 in the\u2063 film&#8217;s main roles are Buddhist, they\u2063 behaved inappropriately and degraded the dignity and morals of monks\u2064 through their physical gestures\u200b and \u2064dialogue,&#8221; the media report stated.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The report \u200ddid not disclose the location where\u2064 the suspects are being held.<\/p>\n<p>Myanmar has been under\u200b the control of its army since February 2021, when it\u2063 seized power from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/biden-threatens-action-after-burmas-military-seizes-power-in-coup\/\" title=\"Biden Threatens Action After Burma\u2019s Military Seizes Power In Coup\">democratically elected government<\/a> of Aung San Suu Kyi.<\/p>\n<p>Nusbaumer \u2063is not the\u200b first foreigner \u2064to be \u2063detained \u200cin Myanmar on charges of insulting Buddhism.<\/p>\n<p>In March 2015, <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/9146cfc1e6a4405384b8338dd0940b26\">a New Zealand citizen<\/a> was sentenced to 2 1\/2 years imprisonment with hard labor\u2063 for insulting Buddhism in an online advertisement that depicted Buddha wearing DJ-style headphones. He was deported the following year after \u2063being \u200barrested \u2064with two Myanmar nationals.<\/p>\n<p>In October 2016, a Dutch tourist was jailed\u200c for three months with hard labor for insulting Buddhism after he unplugged a loudspeaker used by Buddhist monks to broadcast\u2064 a late-night sermon in \u200cMandalay, the country&#8217;s second-largest city.
