Flynn: Biden&#8217;s Treatment of RFK \u200cJr. Is Shameful but Leaves a\u2064 Perfect Opportunity for Americans<\/h2>\n<p>Democratic presidential contender Robert F. \u200bKennedy Jr. has revealed\u2063 that the Biden administration \u200dhas refused to provide him with Secret Service protection.<\/p>\n<p>Kennedy\u2019s campaign sought this \u2064protection months ago, supported \u2062by \u200d\u201ca 67-page report \u200bfrom the world\u2019s leading \u2063protection firm, detailing unique\u200c and well established security and \u2063safety \u200drisks aside from commonplace death threats,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>His request was \u200cignored for three months until \u200bHomeland \u2064Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas\u2063 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/rfk-jr-biden-administration-rejected-request-secret-service-protection-2024-race\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">rejected it<\/a> in one sentence: \u201cI have determined that Secret Service protection for Robert \u200cF Kennedy\u200c Jr is not warranted at this time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Nonsense!<\/strong> It\u2019s my view that Kennedy should\u2064 have that protection, and\u2064 have it now. Stick with me\u200b till the end of this article,\u2063 and I\u2019ll explain how we \u2063are going \u200dto make \u2062this work.<\/p>\n<p>When I \u200bwas\u200b <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/gen-flynn-bidens-treatment-of-rfk-jr-is-shameful-but-leaves-a-perfect-opportunity-for-americans\/\" title=\"Gen. Flynn criticizes Biden's treatment of RFK Jr., sees an opportunity for Americans.\">named national security advisor<\/a> by President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/donald-trump-snub-gop-debate-alternate-program-tucker-carlson-instead-report\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Donald\u2062 Trump<\/a>, I learned firsthand\u200d what it is like to be a\u200b protectee of the Secret\u2064 Service.<\/p>\n<p>About \u200b10 days \u200cbefore Inauguration Day on Jan. 20, 2017, a \u2064team \u2062of Secret Service agents came to my home to interview me and my family. Protection for me began during the inauguration,\u2063 and agents \u200bstayed with me until\u2064 I became the first Trump official\u200c taken down by the deep state. When \u2064I went to the gym, they went to the gym. When I went down to Mar-a-Lago and swam in the ocean, an agent swam with me.<\/p>\n<p>These men and women are the cream of the crop \u2014 respectful, dedicated, professional.\u2064 Just the best. \u2062I do \u200dnot want anyone thinking that anyone at \u2062the Secret\u200c Service made the \u200cdecision not to protect RFK Jr. They don\u2019t make that decision; they implement decisions made by others.<\/p>\n<p>Every\u200d week I seem \u200bto reach a new level of outrage at the duplicity \u200cof President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/bidens-media-request-caught-hot-mic-sudden-end-event-world-leaders\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Joe Biden<\/a> and the\u200d moral pygmies \u2064with whom he\u200c has staffed\u2063 his \u200dadministration, but this action \u200dshocked me to the core.<\/p>\n<p>To begin with, \u2062let\u2019s put \u200caside\u200b any thought that this decision was made by Mayorkas. \u200dWhether or not Biden actually made\u2063 the decision \u2064is irrelevant \u2014\u200b the buck stops on his \u2064desk.\u2062 So \u2062here\u2062 we are\u200b dealing\u2064 with a Democratic candidate for president \u200cwho was denied protection by the Democratic president \u200che is challenging.<\/p>\n<p>And <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/tucker-carlson-releases-explosive-interview-rfk-jr-touching-ukraine-jfk-assassination-lied\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kennedy<\/a> is not just any candidate for \u200bpresident. \u200bHe is the son of\u200d a man\u200b who was assassinated while running for president. He is the \u2063nephew \u200cof a man who was assassinated\u2062 while serving as president. His father\u2019s assassination led to the\u200b enactment of the\u200d very law that authorizes Secret Service protection for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/the-anatomy-of-a-stolen-election-the-fraud-cannot-stand\/\" title=\"The Anatomy of a Stolen Election \u2013 The Fraud Cannot Stand\">presidential candidates<\/a> so\u200c that it would never \u200chappen\u2064 again.<\/p>\n<h3>Should Kennedy have \u200bSecret Service protection?<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Yes<\/li>\n<li>No<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Let\u2019s take a look at that law.<\/p>\n<p>The\u2062 Secret Service was previously under the authority of the Department of \u200dthe Treasury, but was transferred to \u2063the Department\u200c of Homeland\u2064 Security in 2003. Federal \u2062law (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.law.cornell.edu\/uscode\/text\/18\/3056\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">18 U.S.\u200c Code \u00a7 3056<\/a>) authorizes Secret\u2062 Service protection for what are termed \u201cmajor presidential and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/we-either-have-laws-or-we-dont-have-laws-california-violated-its-election-laws-as-well-results-are-likely-invalid\/\" title=\"We Either Have Laws or We Don\u2019t Have Laws: California Violated Its Election Laws As Well \u2013 Results Are Likely Invalid\">vice presidential candidates<\/a>.\u201d The statute gives little guidance as to which candidates are to be\u2063 considered \u201cmajor.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The decision is\u2063 made by the secretary of \u2064Homeland Security \u2014 \u2064Majorkas \u2014 \u201cafter consultation with an advisory committee consisting of\u200c the \u200bSpeaker of \u2062the House of Representatives \u200d [Kevin McCarthy], the \u200bminority leader of the House of Representatives [Hakeem Jeffries], the majority and minority leaders of the\u200d Senate \u200c [Chuck Schumer and Mitch McConnell], and one additional member selected by the other members\u2063 of the committee.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The statute leaves vast discretion to Mayorkas. On the Secret Service <a href=\"https:\/\/www.secretservice.gov\/protection\/leaders\/campaign-2024\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">website<\/a>, \u2064there is a non-exhaustive list \u200bof criteria to guide the secretary\u2019s\u200d decision, \u200dwhich includes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Whether \u2064the candidate is actively campaigning on a national basis;<\/li>\n<li>A threat\u200d assessment conducted \u200cby the\u2064 Secret Service \u2062of general or specific threats directed at the candidate;<\/li>\n<li>Whether the \u200bcandidate\u200d has polled\u200c at 15 percent or more\u2063 for 30 consecutive days; \u200cand<\/li>\n<li>Whether \u200bthe candidate is \u2062the formal or de facto\u200d nominee of a major party.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Mayorkas\u200b did not explain the basis for his decision. He \u200ddid not reveal whether he\u200c bothered\u200d to consult\u2062 with the advisory committee as required \u200bbefore summarily denying Kennedy\u2019s \u2064request. The media ought to be asking \u2062the congressional leadership whether they\u200b were\u2063 consulted and what they recommended.<\/p>\n<p>The Secret Service website \u200dalso states that such protection\u200c \u201cshould \u2062only\u2063 be granted within one year prior to the\u2064 general\u2063 election\u201d \u200dand earlier protection \u200c\u201cshould only\u2062 be granted in extraordinary, case by \u200dcase circumstances in consultation with\u200d the committee, based on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/a-border-threat-so-taboo-that-few-dare-speak-of-it\/\" title=\"A Border Threat So Taboo That Few Dare Speak Of It\">threat assessment<\/a> and other factors.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Now, in August 2023, \u2062we are more than 14 months \u2063away from the general\u200b election \u2014 but that\u2062 one-year \u2064rule has\u2063 been waived before, \u200daccording to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2023\/07\/28\/politics\/fact-check-rfk-biden-secret-service-protection-denial\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CNN<\/a>, \u2062for Barack Obama (May 2007, 18 months before Election\u2062 Day).<\/p>\n<p>The \u200dSecret Service\u200b website also explains some \u2062history that\u2062 shows why protection is needed for RFK Jr.: \u201cMajor candidates and their spouses began receiving \u2063protection after the \u2063assassination\u2064 of Robert\u200d Kennedy in\u2063 1968. \u2063\u2026 Prior to this event, candidates and their families did not \u200creceive \u200bSecret Service protection.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>When President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/jimmy-carters-grandson-gives-update-former-presidents-health-not-looking-good\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jimmy \u2063Carter<\/a> was \u2063challenged for \u2064the nomination by Sen. Ted Kennedy, Carter ordered him protected 13 months before the \u200bgeneral election of 1980. When Biden was\u200c challenged for the nomination by RFK \u2063Jr., Biden denied him protection 14 months before the general\u2062 election of 2024.\u2064 Carter acted with \u200cdignity; Biden has acted\u2062 shamefully.<\/p>\n<p>If Biden will not provide RFK \u200bJr. \u2062with protection, I think it is time for the\u2064 American \u200dpeople to step up and fill the void. People will understand\u2062 why I am not all that \u2064keen on \u2064writing\u2064 a check to the Kennedy campaign, but here is my offer:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Mr. Kennedy:<\/p>\n<p>I don\u2019t \u2064always\u2063 agree with you, but I believe you are \u2063a man of conviction who \u200dhas respect \u200bfor\u200c truth. I am deeply concerned about your safety, given\u200c what happened to your uncle and father. I want to help. So here\u2063 is my \u200bsuggestion. If you create an account to which Americans can donate to pay\u2062 only\u200d for your protection\u200d and not your\u2064 campaign, I \u200dwill write the \u200dfirst check for $1,000 and, \u200bas \u200dI go around the country, I\u2063 will urge others to contribute as well. Just \u2062tell\u2062 me the name on the account and where\u2064 to mail the check.
