The organization is headed \u2063and largely funded by Democrat billionaire Michael Bloomberg. Nearly 100 cities across the world make\u200b up the organization, and its American members\u200c include Austin, Boston, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami,\u200b New Orleans, New York City, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Portland, San Francisco, \u2064Washington, D.C., and Seattle.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2-long d-flex justify-content-center\" style=\"margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center; \" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-1362497207\">\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1379703300879-0\" class=\"mb-30\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-61d774b1c75f6529e55caee80c97b4dd fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-61d774b1c75f6529e55caee80c97b4dd\"><\/div>\n<p>Media coverage of C40 Cities\u2019 goals \u200dhas\u2064 been \u200crelatively sparse. The few media personalities and news outlets who have discussed it have been heavily attacked by the corporate \u201cfact-checkers.\u201d In a \u201cfact check\u201d aimed\u200c at conservative commentator Glenn Beck, \u2062 <a href=\"https:\/\/factcheck.afp.com\/doc.afp.com.33NJ8FK\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">AFP \u2063Fact \u2062Check<\/a> claimed that the banning of meat and dairy and\u200c limits on air travel and clothing consumption were actually \u201cnot policy \u200crecommendations.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>AFP quotes a paragraph from the original \u201cThe Future of \u200dUrban Consumption in \u200da 1.5\u00b0C World\u201d report, which \u2063reads, \u201cThis report does not advocate for the wholesale adoption of these more ambitious targets in \u200bC40 cities; rather, they are included to provide a set of reference points that cities, and other actors, can reflect on when considering different emission-reduction alternatives and long-term urban visions.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But \u200dthis paragraph, likely included in the report as a liability in the case of pushback, \u2064seems to directly \u2064contradict the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wordnik.com\/words\/target\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">meaning<\/a> of \u201ctarget,\u201d which in this context can be defined as a \u201cdesired goal.\u201d The target of eliminating meat, dairy, and private vehicles by 2030 \u200cis \u201cbased \u2064on a future vision of resource-efficient production and extensive changes in consumer choices,\u201d the report\u2064 notes \u2014 something its authors clearly hope to \u200dbring about. If these were not their goals, they would not have labeled them \u201cambitious targets.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The \u201cfact-checker\u2019s\u201d insistence that C40 Cities\u2019 explicitly stated climate goals are somehow insincere is even more unconvincing, given that we are\u200c watching them start to unfold right now. This year, in lockstep with C40\u2064 Cities\u2019 2030\u2064 aims, New York\u2062 City Mayor Eric Adams\u2062 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2023\/04\/17\/nyregion\/eric-adams-meat-emissions-nyc.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">announced<\/a> that the\u2063 city will place caps on the amount of meat and dairy \u2063served by city institutions, such as schools and prisons. Meanwhile, the U.K. has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoexpress.co.uk\/news\/108960\/uk-2030-petrol-and-diesel-ban-what-it-and-which-cars-are-affected\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">banned<\/a> the\u2062 sale of new <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/two-ca-dem-senators-tell-biden-to-set-hard-date-to-eliminate-sale-of-gas-powered-vehicles\/\" title=\"Two CA Dem Senators Tell Biden To Set Hard Date To Eliminate Sale Of Gas-Powered Vehicles\">gas-powered vehicles<\/a> after 2030, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.climatedepot.com\/2023\/06\/01\/climate-lockdowns-begin-france-bans-short-haul-flights-in-favor-of-train-travel-to-cut-carbon-emissions\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">France<\/a> has banned short-haul flights \u201cto\u200d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/after-fisker-automotives-lost-taxpayers-tens-of-millions-top-investors-turn-to-proterra\/\" title=\"After Fisker Automotives Lost Taxpayers Tens of Millions, Top Investors Turn to Proterra\">cut carbon emissions<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-1e62a83e356093eb503391196fc7e62f fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-6\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-1e62a83e356093eb503391196fc7e62f\"><\/div>\n<p>In\u200c 2020, \u200cthe World Economic Forum (which <a href=\"https:\/\/www.weforum.org\/organizations\/c40-cities-climate-leadership-group\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">promotes<\/a> \u2062C40 Cities on its website) introduced \u201cThe Great Reset,\u201d which seeks to use the \u200dCovid-19 pandemic as a point from which to launch a global reset of society to supposedly combat climate change. This reset, however, has far\u200b more to do with social control than it does with the climate. If globalist leaders truly cared\u2063 about \u200bthe environment, they\u2064 wouldn\u2019t be chartering \u2062private jets or owning massive, \u200denergy-consuming mansions on the coast in \u200cCalifornia, which, by climate fanatics\u2019\u2064 own\u200d calculation, will soon be <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/losangeles\/news\/new-climate-models-show-much-of-southern-california-underwater\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">underwater<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>As the\u200d WEF\u200c <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=4zUjsEaKbkM\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">plainly<\/a> stated in \u2062a 2016 promotional video, by 2030 \u201cYou\u2019ll own \u2062nothing, and you\u2019ll be happy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Right now, hedge funds and private \u2064billionaires \u200bare buying up \u2064residential <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2021\/06\/11\/what-happens-when-hedge-funds-buy-up-neighborhoods\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">homes<\/a> \u2062and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.popularmechanics.com\/science\/environment\/a42543527\/why-is-bill-gates-buying-so-much-farmland\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">farmland<\/a> all over the world. At the same time, unrealistic zero-emissions policies are impoverishing Westerners and annihilating the middle class, which is fueling reliance on centralized government. Such intentional steps backward\u2062 also, ironically, <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/11\/29\/marc-morano-the-un-climate-summit-was-actually-the-china-empowerment-summit\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">harm<\/a> the \u200dearth \u200cbecause\u200c wealthier nations are proven \u200bto\u2063 have cleaner environments and put less strain on natural resources.<\/p>\n<p>Climate activists are also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/opinion\/california-wants-nation-to-start-pondering-climate-lockdowns\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">advocating<\/a> for \u201cclimate <a href=\"https:\/\/www.climatedepot.com\/2021\/07\/05\/marxisms-new-face-is-climate-lockdowns-study-claims-americans-must-cut-energy-use-by-90-live-in-640-sq-fly-once-every-3-years-limit-new-clothing-universal-basic-income-degrowth\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">lockdowns<\/a>,\u201d in the same way there were Covid lockdowns. Ideas floated for a climate lockdown have ranged\u200c from\u200d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.greenmatters.com\/weather-and-global-warming\/climate-lockdowns\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">shuttering<\/a> people in their homes and restricting\u2063 air travel to \u200dproviding a\u200c Universal\u2063 Basic \u2062Income and introducing a maximum\u2064 income \u200blevel.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-ae8b17c7d6a9b74aef7960d62c9cc8ea fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-10\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-ae8b17c7d6a9b74aef7960d62c9cc8ea\"><\/div>\n<p>Climate dystopianism doesn\u2019t end \u200cthere. WEF-linked \u201cbioethicist\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newswars.com\/wef-linked-bioethicist-called-for-genetically-modifying-humans-to-induce-meat-intolerance\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Dr.\u2063 Matthew Liao<\/a> has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theatlantic.com\/technology\/archive\/2012\/03\/how-engineering-the-human-body-could-combat-climate-change\/253981\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">proposed the idea<\/a> of scientists genetically \u200dmodify\u2063 humans to be allergic to meat. \u200dLiao has also discussed shrinking the physical size of humans via eugenics or hormone injections so they\u200c consume fewer resources.<\/p>\n<p>All of these policy\u2064 proposals appear even \u200cmore unreasonable and illogical when we actually evaluate the data. According to \u2062the <a href=\"https:\/\/emdat.be\/categories\/adsr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">International Disaster Database<\/a>, deaths related \u200dto extreme heat, floods, storms, and droughts have\u2064 plummeted as C02 emissions have risen. The fossil fuel \u2062economy has provided billions of people with heating, air \u200bconditioning, weather \u200dwarning systems, mass irrigation, and durable buildings.<\/p>\n<p>This isn\u2019t to say that we \u200cshouldn\u2019t try \u200cto limit carbon emissions. <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/04\/15\/apples-earth-day-initiative-demonizes-carbon-free-nuclear-power\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Environmentally friendly<\/a> nuclear energy,\u2062 which is <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2021\/08\/25\/how-florida-republicans-are-outstripping-new-york-democrats-in-generating-clean-energy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">safe and<\/a> more reliable \u2063than wind and solar energy, is \u2064a great way to wean our society off of our reliance on \u2063fossil fuels.\u200c The globalist climate activists, however,\u200c <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/crenshaw-blisters-bernie-after-climate-rant-its-actually-not-about-climate-change-its-about-control\/\" title=\"Crenshaw Blisters Bernie After Climate Rant: \u2018It\u2019s Actually Not About Climate Change, It\u2019s About Control\u2019\">oppose nuclear energy<\/a>, \u200bfurther undermining their supposedly good intentions.<\/p>\n<p>Ultimately, the climate coalition\u2019s goals are inherently\u2062 anti-human. People generally need meat and the protein it provides\u2064 to flourish.
