That is what the CEO\u2063 of Ford found out when he\u200c recently took to the road in an\u200c <strong>F-150 \u2062Lightning electric pickup truck<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>According to \u200c <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxbusiness.com\/technology\/fords-ceo-admits-reality-check-during-f-150-lightning-route-66-road-trip\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fox News<\/a>, Jim Farley wanted\u200b to understand exactly what\u200d his customers \u2064are experiencing when driving long distances in their EVs. The \u2063speed and accessibility of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/colossal-failure-ev-charging-stations-face-mechanical-problems-half-inoperable-1-area\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">charging stations<\/a> (or lack thereof) weigh heavily \u200don people\u2019s minds when choosing between a gas-powered \u200dcar and an EV.<\/p>\n<p>Farley had a much better experience when he pulled into a charging station in Baker, California, where \u2064he \u200dfound\u200c a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/ev-charger-makers-brace-for-slowdown-as-new-made-in-america-rules-kick-in\/\" title=\"EV charger makers brace for slowdown as new Made In America rules kick in\">high-speed charger<\/a>. \u201cWas \u200bso quick and easy. Really highlighted the difference that nice stations \u2063and fast charging can make on the overall EV experience,\u201d Farley <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/jimfarley98\/status\/1690913258402619392?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">tweeted<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>No doubt, it was this \u200brealization that prompted the new partnership\u2063 between Ford and\u2064 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/tesla-model-y-owner-says-car-trapped-inside-hot-arizona-summer-day-battery-died\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tesla<\/a>. Starting this spring, Tesla\u2062 will make its Supercharger network available to Ford EVs, Fox reported.<\/p>\n<p>But\u2063 will the \u2064expanded infrastructure be enough to convince Ford buyers to make the leap from gas to electric? That remains to be seen.<\/p>\n<p>Let\u2019s face it \u2014 \u200bFord\u2063 customers\u2063 aren\u2019t Tesla customers. Ford people value <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/man-waits-3-years-dream-ev-days-getting-hit-brutal-news-2100-bill\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reliability<\/a>. \u2063They work their \u200cvehicles hard.<\/p>\n<p>Many also understand how cars\u2062 and \u200btrucks work firsthand. They are\u2064 the people who keep this nation\u2063 running. They haul, work with their hands, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/bidenflation-hurting-rural-america-more-than-urban\/\" title=\"Bidenflation Hurting Rural America More Than Urban\">drive long distances<\/a>.\u200b Heck, many are mechanics \u200cthemselves.<\/p>\n<p>Ask any mechanic\u2064 what his \u200bthoughts are about EVs. He will give you an earful.<\/p>\n<p>Only a portion of his\u2064 rant will be about the lack of charging infrastructure. Oh, and it also lines the pockets\u2064 of China in a big way.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cChina owns basically 70-80% of the entire\u200c supply chain for electric vehicles and lithium-ion batteries,\u201d \u200cStuart Crow of Lake Resources told the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ft.com\/content\/7beef24f-29a2-4683-8b30-b076528416c1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Financial Times<\/a> last year.\u200b I can\u2019t imagine Ford truck owners appreciating that.<\/p>\n<p>Then there\u2019s the enormous cost of battery\u2064 replacements, coming in at somewhere \u2062between $2,000 and $20,000. Yes, EV batteries are \u2062meant to\u2063 last the lifetime of the\u2064 vehicle. In unforeseen circumstances,\u2062 however, buyers can\u2019t risk having to foot the bill for a replacement, especially when some can hardly afford a gallon of milk.<\/p>\n<p>Many view the top-down push to transition from gas \u200bto electric vehicles as nothing more than another scam thought up by the government in cahoots with corporate America to grab more power away \u200bfrom the people.\u200b Plenty don\u2019t think EVs will have any impact on the\u200c climate \u2014 if they even buy the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/expert-tells-climate-alarmists-pump-brakes-maui-fire-narrative-published-warning-years-ago-predicting\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">climate change<\/a> theory at all.<\/p>\n<p>The current limitations that come with owning an electric\u200b vehicle preclude them from being\u200b widely adopted.
