He also \u2062stated that charges\u200b were also lowered in roughly \u200ca dozen other \u200ccases.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cAs\u2062 in any such case, the primary consideration is concern about the\u200d credibility as witnesses of discharged officers,\u201d the statement said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>All five of the former officers, Tadarrius Bean, \u200bDemetrius Haley, Emmitt Martin, Justin Smith, \u2064and Desmond Mills, face various counts, including second-degree \u2063murder\u2064 in Nichols\u2019 death. <\/p>\n<p>During their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/missouri-man-charged-with-threatening-to-murder-2-us-congressmen\/\" title=\"Missouri Man Charged With Threatening to Murder 2 US Congressmen\">initial court appearance<\/a>\u200c on February 17<sup>th<\/sup>, all\u200c five cops pleaded not guilty. <\/p>\n<p>Nichols \u200cdied just a few\u2064 days after\u2064 being pulled \u2064over for a\u200b traffic violation and ended up being\u200b beaten by the former Memphis cops on \u2063January \u20627<sup>th<\/sup>. <\/p>\n<p>The extent\u2062 of the beating was made public when body camera videos \u2063and surveillance footage from Nichols\u2019 arrest were made available on January 27<sup>th<\/sup>. \u2064According to the \u200bcounty prosecutor at\u2063 the time, it contradicted what the officers claimed occurred in \u200bthe <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/blm-activists-protest-police-shooting-leave-after-learning-man-was-white-report\/\" title=\"BLM Activists Protest Police Shooting, Leave After Learning Man Was White: Report\">initial police report<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Nichols\u2019 family has also\u2062 filed a lawsuit against the city of Memphis, its police department, and the former policemen.<\/p>\n<p>A date to hear motions from the officers has been set for \u2062September 15<sup>th<\/sup>. <\/p>\n<p>Stay informed!
