Everything is \u2062by \u200cdesign,\u201d Habba said. \u201cGeorgia state is bringing a charge that absolutely should be in\u200b federal court.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Habba noted that charges pertaining to elections, the\u200b U.S. Constitution, and the\u200d presidency are federal \u200dmatters. She then suggested \u200cthat Willis \u2063has vindictive motives.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cIf you ask me what I really \u2064think, I think\u2064 she did \u200dit on purpose so that, if he is\u2062 president, he\u2064 can\u2019t <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/levin-takes-counterview-trump-power-potus-pardon-state-charges\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">pardon himself<\/a> \u200c if he\u2019s convicted,\u201d\u200c Habba said of the\u2064 Georgia prosecutor.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Willis is merely the latest in a \u2064long line\u200b of officials \u2063unhinged by their \u200chatred of the former president. Even Pat Labat, Fulton County\u2019s Democratic \u2062sheriff, appeared eager to take Trump\u2019s \u2064 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/lawyer-points-big-problem-georgia-sheriff-wanting-trumps-mugshot\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">mugshot<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In light of the \u200djurisdictional question, as well \u200cas Georgia officials\u2019 \u200cobvious hostility to\u2062 her client, Habba\u200c will likely file several motions.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cWe will probably be asking for removal\u2062 to another venue \u2064and to move\u2064 it to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/trumps-georgia-indictment-escalated-federal-court\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">federal court<\/a>,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The interview\u2064 then shifted to\u2064 the question of whether Trump\u2019s bloodthirsty prosecutors have coordinated \u200ctheir \u2062efforts. Habba said they obviously have. She \u200dalso\u200b traced the coordinated\u200d prosecution to the very\u2063 top.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m not sure who the leader of \u2064the pack\u200b is at this point other than, you\u2064 know, probably the president himself \u2026 or [Attorney General] Merrick Garland,\u201d Habba said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>On \u200bthe\u200d question of whether one of Trump\u2019s 18 co-defendants might flip, \u2063Habba politely scoffed.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Flipping, the attorney\u2062 observed, implies that \u201cthere\u2019s \u200da problem \u200dthat\u200c the president\u200c should be worried \u200babout and somebody\u2019s going to \u200csay something that would damage him, and so the answer to \u200dthat question is very simply no.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The\u200d flipping question led\u200c Habba to dismiss \u2063the merits of \u200cGeorgia\u2019s case against\u2062 the former president.\u200d She noted, for\u2062 instance, that\u200c the indictment charged Trump with encouraging his\u2062 followers to\u200d watch\u200c Newsmax, Fox\u200d News, and OAN.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cI mean, come on, what are we \u2063worried about? Flipping\u2062 for what?\u201d she asked.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>For what, indeed? The Georgia indictment so defies belief that one hesitates to \u2062dignify \u2062it by examining the fundamental \u200cquestions it involves.<\/p>\n<h3>Two \u2063Fundamental Questions<\/h3>\n<p>Two such questions take \u200cprecedence \u2063over all others.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>\n<p>First, \u2062did massive fraud and\u200d irregularities plague\u200d the 2020 presidential election in Georgia?<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Second, did <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/trump-says-one-thing-never-hear-say\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Trump<\/a> act within his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/breaking-kraken-released-attorney-sidney-powell-files-104-page-bombshell-complaint-of-massive-fraud-in-georgia-election-update-michigan-too\/\" title=\"BREAKING: KRAKEN RELEASED! Attorney Sidney Powell Files 104 Page BOMBSHELL COMPLAINT of Massive Fraud in Georgia Election - Update: Michigan too\">constitutional rights<\/a>\u2062 by questioning and \u200cchallenging the outcome of that election?<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The answer \u2062to the \u200bsecond\u2062 question does not depend on the answer to\u2064 the first.<\/p>\n<p>Even in an alternate universe where \u200cthe <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/fried-jack-smith-ignore-damning-facts-undermine-trump-indictment\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2020\u200d election<\/a> \u200dinvolved\u200d no fraud whatsoever, Trump still would have had the\u200c right to question it and even to\u2063 pursue whatever remedies he\u2062 believed the problem demanded within the \u2063law.<\/p>\n<p>Trump\u2019s prosecutors, however, have insisted that the answer \u2064to \u200dthe \u200csecond question must be \u2064no \u200b <em>because <\/em>the answer to the first question \u2014 \u200bor so they have loudly and \u2062desperately claimed\u2062 \u2014 is also \u2062no. This would make the former president\u2019s \u2063constitutional \u200crights subject to his detractors\u2019 \u2062opinions.<\/p>\n<p>No \u200drepublic can survive \u200bunder\u200d such conditions.<\/p>\n<p>Then \u200bagain, Trump\u2019s persecutors have \u200bno interest in lofty abstractions like constitutional rights or liberty. They \u2062seek only revenge as\u200c they seethe and froth at the\u2062 mouth, driven to madness by their\u200c hatred of a man who dared to challenge\u200c the establishment.<\/p>\n<p>In that sense,\u2063 the \u200bmerits of the case\u2064 make no difference.
