Of course, the lack of evidence to support such an assertion hasn\u2019t stopped legacy media from \u2063 <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/08\/08\/media-gin-up-lies-about-election-worker-safety-to-escape-ballot-box-accountability\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">regurgitating<\/a> their Democrat allies\u2019 phony narratives in order to paint Republican voters as extremists \u2062and dissuade conservatives from partaking in legitimate forms of electoral oversight.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>In their remarks to The Times, Brimm \u2062and DASS officials claimed Value the Vote \u201cwill provide\u2064 equal \u2063funding opportunities to both Democratic and Republican election officials, but how the distribution \u200bwill work in practice is unclear.\u201d \u200cBrimm also indicated \u201celection officials could request grants to pay for private \u2062security themselves and that Values the Vote would also proactively \u200doffer private security.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to Hans von Spakovsky, a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/senator-josh-hawleys-wife-describes-frightening-evening-of-assault-on-family-home\/\" title=\"Senator Josh Hawley\u2019s Wife Describes \u201cFrightening\u201d Evening Of \u201cAssault\u201d On Family Home\">senior legal fellow<\/a> at the \u2062Heritage Foundation, the group\u2019s issuance\u200b of private grants to election offices could \u2064very well be unlawful. \u201cMost states make it illegal for anyone to be stationed in a polling place except for election officials and designated poll watchers, and that ban would include \u2018private\u2019 security guards,\u201d von Spakovsky told The Federalist.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<h3>Potential Legal Issues<\/h3>\n<p>Von Spakovsky further contended the stationing of private security guards at election offices \u2062and polling sites could constitute a violation of \u200csection 11(b) of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.archives.gov\/milestone-documents\/voting-rights-act\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">1965\u200c Voting Rights Act<\/a>, which states that no one \u201cshall intimidate, threaten, or coerce, or attempt to intimidate, threaten, or coerce,\u201d any individual \u2064who is \u200b\u201cvoting or attempting to vote\u201d or \u201curging \u2064or aiding any person to vote or attempt to \u2062vote.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe presence of such private \u200blaw \u200benforcement could scare individuals attempting to vote \u2062and deter them from asking election officials questions. This would particularly be the case if those guards were \u200barmed,\u201d von Spakovsky said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Value the Vote\u2019s issuance of grants and services\u2064 to election offices may also conflict with existing statutes in <a href=\"https:\/\/capitalresearch.org\/article\/states-banning-zuck-bucks\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">25 states<\/a> prohibiting or restricting election officials\u2019 use of private money to conduct elections. These laws, which election integrity advocates often refer to as \u200b\u201cZuckbucks\u201d bans, were passed in\u2062 response to Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg\u2019s actions in the 2020 \u2064election.<\/p>\n<p>During that contest, Zuckerberg gave <a href=\"https:\/\/www.techandciviclife.org\/100m\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">hundreds\u200c of millions of dollars<\/a> \u2063to \u200cnonprofits such as the Center for Tech and Civic Life, which in turn poured these \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2021\/10\/12\/the-2020-election-wasnt-stolen-it-was-bought-by-mark-zuckerberg\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Zuckbucks<\/a>\u201d \u2064into local election offices in\u2062 battleground states around the country to change \u200dhow elections were administered. The funds were\u200d ultimately used to expand unsupervised election protocols like mail-in voting and using <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/breaking-zuckerberg-bans-president-trump-from-using-facebook-indefinitely\/\" title=\"BREAKING: Zuckerberg Bans President Trump from Using Facebook \u201cIndefinitely\u201d\">ballot drop boxes<\/a>. To make\u200c matters worse, these grants were heavily skewed toward Democrat-majority counties, essentially making it\u200d a massive, privately\u200b funded Democrat get-out-the-vote operation.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<h3>Unveiling the Truth<\/h3>\n<p>As detailed by Federalist Editor-in-Chief Mollie Hemingway in \u2063her national bestseller, \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.barnesandnoble.com\/w\/rigged-mollie-hemingway\/1139396959\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Rigged: How the Media, Big Tech, and the Democrats Seized Our Elections<\/a>,\u201d Zuckerberg \u201cdidn\u2019t just help Democrats by censoring their political opponents,\u201d his financing \u2063of \u200b\u201cliberal groups running \u2062partisan get-out-the-vote operations\u201d was \u201cthe means \u200bby which [Democrat] activists achieved their \u2018revolution\u2019 \u200dand changed the course of the 2020 election.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was a genius plan,\u201d Hemingway wrote. \u201cAnd because no one ever imagined that a coordinated operation could pull\u2064 off the privatization of the election system, laws were not built to combat it.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>In addition to financing \u2063private security for election offices, Value the Vote is also purportedly \u200dplanning to confront so-called \u201celection misinformation\u201d through\u2064 the use of \u201cpaid digital advertising,\u201d as well as engage in voter registration efforts that favor Democrats.
